He argued about it with Meredith Vieira on the Today Show this morning too but Suzanne Malveaux was better prepared for him this afternoon.
Three things here.
One: I’m not sure why he thinks it’s so far-fetched that Neil Abercrombie, the new governor of Hawaii, would remember Obama as an infant. Granted, it’s an amazing coincidence that they’re both now prominent Democrats, but Obama Sr. and his wife must have made quite the striking couple in the early 60s when interracial marriage was still illegal in many states. I’ll bet a lot of people who met them and their little one at the time remember them.
Two: Unless Trump’s thinking of some other interview with Obama’s grandmother, Malveaux’s right that the whole “she admits he was born in Kenya!” meme is based on a misunderstanding. You can read the transcript of the key part of that interview here. She’s also right that some of The One’s childhood friends have reminisced about him publicly, contra what Trump claimed not long ago on “The View” about no one in his past remembering him (He seems to have dropped that talking point now.) If he’s serious about building a base by impressing Birthers, you would think he’d see these factual challenges coming and be ready to parry them.
Three: Some of the love for Trump in the polls right now is due to his willingness, as Rush Limbaugh says, to go right at Obama by bringing up subjects that his fans in big media has declared to be off the table. Okay, but that’s partly a function of the fact that the base is unenthused thus far about its choices for 2012, especially with tea-party rock stars like Palin, Pence, and Rubio sitting things out. If, say, Palin jumped in and started to “go right at Obama” on, say, spending, it’s easy to imagine the conservative reception for Trump’s Birther broadsides turning from amusement and applause for his fearlessness to annoyance and even anger that he’s sucking media oxygen away from more substantive lines of attack and making it easier for the media to “kookify” the GOP. No one has a problem with it now because no one’s in the race yet, just Pawlenty and Cain and a bunch of heavy hitters weighing their options. But once the race is on and we get deeper into policy (speaking of which, did Trump really tell Joe Scarborough that we should seize Iraq’s oil fields?), who’s going to want to hear this?

IIRC, Abercrombie claimed to see the baby O at or just after birth. Neil wasn't in Hawaii at that time.
Absolutely there is. IT was gotten by way of FOIA requests. There is documented proof of the Divorce.
I’m with you big b...I haven’t been enthusiastic about Trump’s political ambitions, but this Nation is screaming for a real leader, and his attitude may just get him elected.

Yep. Donald keeps sticking his foot in it, thereby obscuring what should be a very straightforward, powerful and legitimate message. Carelessly tossing around claims that can be so easily refuted weakens his credibility, and the more the MSM easily outduels him on these irrelevant points, the less the average fence-sitter is going to believe him.

Based on my experience, whenever someone says they can't use a COLB to get a drivers license in their state, I'm able to pull up the website and see they, in fact, can. Also, the Supreme Court recognizes Hawaii's certified copies as proof of birth for passport applications.
Maybe so, but it would split the Dems in half. Either way, the GOP wins. And if Trump actually ends up on the ballot, he will stop at nothing to win. He would certainly be a better president than Obama or Hillary.

Unfortunately, there’s NO evidence this “couple” EVER went around together since within weeks of the birth, Ann Obama had moved to Seattle to take fall classes at UW. Likewise, they lived in separate households. These are not the mark of a lovey-dovey couple.
What’s interesting is that in light of their having gotten married in Feb. when Ann already was 3-4 months pregnant, one might suppose that this ‘striking’ interracial couple would have been seen in public with Ann being “in a family way.” Yet I am not aware of a SINGLE account of someone who has come forward with such a memory. Like the dog that didn’t bark, the accounts that HAVEN’T come forward (even though by all logic they should have) are just as revealing as those that have.

He may well have known both Ann and Senior, but his account falls far short of proving Obama was born in Hawaii—especially since his first memories of Obama came after the 2 were divorced and after Ann had spent more than a year pursuing her studies at UW.
Abercrombie is 73 now. So he would have been 23 or something when dear little Barry was born. I remember almost none of the students in my college class the year I graduated.
I’d be more prone to believe Neil knew Stanley Ann because he got stoned with her than she, at 17, was a fascinating part an interracial hippie/socialist “couple” and had a baby.

The sad part is that the GOP and GOP media like Beck, Coulter, Breitbart, etc, have bought the Liberal Media spin.
If the GOP does not go all out on the Birther issue....they will be trounced in 2012. The cut and run recently by Marco Rubio, Allen West, and others will not sit too well on conservative Birthers. If you cannot stand up to Obama on this issue....you will back down on others
Real leadership is needed. The GOP better get its collective head out of its arse and get with the Birthers....stop acting like an Obama supporter

I doubt Trump is doing this “just for Hillary”.....he has enough money and clout to push Hillary’s campaign without bringing up the Birther issue. If any of this recent Birther events is linked to Hillary...her career is over

Except that there is no evidence that Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Obama I ever lived together with their young child in Hawaii. Abercrombie appears to be the only one that remembers that happening.
