...Census Bureau data reveals that most U.S. families headed by illegal immigrants use taxpayer-funded welfare programs on behalf of their American-born anchor babies. Even before the recession, immigrant households with children used welfare programs at consistently higher rates than natives, according to the extensive census data collected and analyzed by a nonpartisan Washington D.C. group dedicated to researching legal and illegal immigration in the U.S...The majority of households across the country benefitting from publicly-funded welfare programs are headed by immigrants, both legal and illegal. States where immigrant households with children have the highest welfare use rates are Arizona (62%), Texas, California and New York with 61% each and Pennsylvania (59%).
The study focused on eight major welfare programs that cost the government $517 billion the year they were examined. They include Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for the disabled, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), a nutritional program known as Women, Infants and Children (WIC), food stamps, free/reduced school lunch, public housing and health insurance for the poor (Medicaid).
Food assistance and Medicaid are the programs most commonly used by illegal immigrants, mainly on behalf of their American-born children who get automatic citizenship. On the other hand, legal immigrant households take advantage of every available welfare program, according to the study, which attributes it to low education level and resulting low income.
The highest rate of welfare recipients come from the Dominican Republic (82 %), Mexico and Guatemala (75%) and Ecuador (70%), according to the report, which says welfare use tends to be high for both new arrivals and established residents.
This needed to be bold, underlined and in all caps.
Bump
The Mexican government, since the Cardenas administration in the 1930s that nationalized the oil industry there, has preached and taught socialism. It is taught in the schools, it is written on the sides of buildings, it is promulgated by the unions— all under the auspices of the ruling PRI (party), which promised much but only rarely delivered. This didn’t even begin to change until Vicente Fox, (PAN) was elected in 2000, and even he had a hard time reversing direction. The Reconquista stuff they learn after they come here. That is an idea we exported to Mexico. It never occurred to them until the militant Hispanics in the border states, eager to seize power from the Anglo culture, started talking it up in the 70s. And it isn’t a universally popular idea, because, after all, the Mexicans left Mexico to come here and get away from their government. Why would they want it reinstated?
Yes you nailed it, people that hire illegals save money, but it costs the rest of us dearly. Not only does it cost us jobs and tons of money, it also costs lives.
Well, I have to tell you, that there is a culture out there that doesn’t think of it as feeding at the trough, it wasn’t met as a dig against Latinos. Some simple don’t know where the free stuff comes from, just that it is.
Yes, other groups and other cultures have similar sports competing to see who can be the ultimate saver/free loader. Usually in the family though.
Hence, John Stossel’s show on Freeloader America.
I have to tell you, that Latinos are the only ones that openly brag to their neighbors and fellow church goers that I know of. Most people keep it private. If you ever wanted to know or compare notes, just go to a church with lots of Latino immigrants and they will educate you.
I think the only thing exceptional about Latinos, they do it openly with no regret.
You are correct. The carpet mills here in Dalton, Georgia, offered medical insurance to their employees. The illegals would turn it down because, "it free" at the Health Department, "why I pay". It's like I told Rep. Charlie Norwood (rest his soul) at a meeting on the cost of medical care for illegals. If you add their children, who should not be here, the cost to Americans is astronomical. Also, add the anchor babies to list of illegals committing crimes. See how that cost jumps.
They also take a lot of goods and cash from private charities such as food banks and church ministries. To make things worse, increasing numbers of Hispanic teens are having illegitimate babies. No wonder Americans are having fewer children - they are paying to support someone else’s kids.
Huh?
Totally lost me.
We were talking about people having a competition on how much they could extract from the system. Charities, Government, Under the Table Employment....etc...
Never said they didn’t work hard, just that they think it is a game to save and extract the most they can. When it comes to saving and making money on top of what they make via legit avenues, they schooled me.
Things like, did you know if you call the utility company and say you are having trouble paying for the wind mill energy mandated by the state that they will reduce your bill to a fraction of your usage? Did you know that you could take that remaining bill down to the Salvation Army and they will pay the balance for you as long as it is used for primary heat?
My local Latinos know, and they would be proud to show you how to do it too.
Not only that, they know 10000 other ways to really squeeze the system.
I take notes, never know, we may all be forced into living this way if we change into a Euro-style socialist economy. Of course, the charities are likely to collapse.
Right now, it seems to be a sport that they keep score with.
Sarcasm I am sure .... LOL
Not only that, in some hospitals it is so bad, if you have a real emergency, you are better off making an emergency appt with your own doctor. Depending on your condition judged at triage, you may be seen much sooner.
Yes I know what kind of primativos you refer to and I know the cultured Latinos (Hispanics and Spanish) that immigrate here. I know the difference. Roughly speaking the border jumpers are the primativos while the legal “Latino” immigrants and visa violators (stay here forever on a visitor or .edu visa) are the Euro-cultured ones
