The great Moon Hoax of 1835
April 4, 2011 By Nancy Atkinson, Universe Today
"Say the words Moon Hoax these days, and everyone thinks you are talking about the people who dont believe the Apollo astronauts ever went to the Moon. But back in 1835 there was the original Moon hoax that thousands of people fell for, despite the tall tale being complete fiction. A series of articles were published in the New York Sun newspaper reporting incredible new astronomical observations of the Moon supposedly made by astronomer Sir John Herschel during an observing run at the Cape of Good Hope with his powerful new telescope. Detailed descriptions of winged beings, plants, animals and a sapphire temple increased sales and subscriptions to the fledgling newspaper."

I’m surprised they haven’t made a movie out of this, have it flop, “reboot” it a few years later and have that one flop and then reboot it again......
Seems to me that Mormons are suppose to make more about the "office" (role as "prophet") than the personality...
...the wardrobe rather than the one filling it...
Hence, the real discussion is about the alleged platform -- the Mormons' so-called "living prophetic mouthpiece"...
Since your living "prophet" has proclaimed that moon men are so, who are YOU to disagree with his authoritative directive from the Mormon god?
So I take it from your reply that you agree with me that it is very unlikely that Joseph Smith ever said anything about moon people.

Wasn't it Bringem Young who said, "Not only on the moon but the Sun too"?
The moon is more believable.
Geepers, I posted that back in April 2011 - maybe they lived on the dark side of the sun where it’s cooler. LOL
180 years from now there will be articles on the great global warming hoax of the early 2000’s.
I didn't even notice the posting date, I just got pinged to it today. Somebody resurrected it.
