General Petraeus is BETRAYING his OATH TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES. I’m a military brat from waaay back, and my respect for and admiration for our military and veterans knows NO bounds...but this is just the ‘party line’ being repeated her, and IT’S WRONG. And I’m calling him on it!! >:-(

That might be true, but in a totally different context. Petraeus is only following the order of his CiC, and it should be obvious to everyone now that while Soetoro has always camped with the enemy of the united States, if this article has any truth to it, then it appears Petraeus is now fighting for the other side too.
I'm sorry, The US Constitution and our God given rights trump Petraeus' new found love for Islam and our enemy.

Yes, I understand protecting his troops. Yes, I have served in combat. No, I probably don’t have as much time in combat as the general, only 13 months out of 21 months active enlisted time.
You, as a good Marine, should know that you do not deter a heretofore implacable foe by trying to placate him. You must teach your foe to FEAR you so much that he ceases combat, both overt and surreptitious.
After your enemy has been subdued then we can talk about living together as civilized, peaceable people. You know, civilized, as in “I will stop burning your holy book now that you have stopped burning our airliners, office buildings, the bodies of our dead, peaceable church-goers in India, Pakistan & Egypt and our flag.”
BTW, I do NOT recommend, encourage, or approve of burning the Koran. A better thing to do would be to let people know the terrible teachings of the Koran that are being used to send thousands of Muslims to die and/or kill others, all the while believing that they are doing the will of God.

The best way to do that now is for him to recommend through the chain of command that we get out of Afghanistan. We will never make a decent country for these savages.

I just talked to a retired Marine who works with a mom whose daughter is a Marine in Afghanistan. I had gone right along with the drumbeat here “why are our female soldiers wearing a scarf?!! that’s not right, blah, blah.”
Come to find out that the female soldiers wearing the scarves are getting along more easily with the Afghan women when they interact , talk or have to search them or a house.
DUH...maybe I will leave the war to the generals. ha.

We would probably already be done there if our troops didn't have to fight with their hands tied behind their backs. Why do people think that if we snuggle up to islam, they will stop hating us? Protect them? They are in a war zone. They best be prepared to protect and defend themselves under any and all conditions. If they aren't, then he should lead them the hell out of there.
The Bible may not even be allowed there. Even if it is, we know for fact, no preaching of the gospel (proselytizing) is allowed by any troop in country.
