I have a new MacBook Air. Solid state memory, boots up in 14 seconds, 3 lb., seven hour battery, aluminum chassis, never gets hot like my old HP. I have a windows partition that I use with a USB device called a MobiKey to access Confidential level data on my work desktop.
I would have gotten another iPad 2 if I didn't need to access and work on my work computer.
I would have gotten another iPad 2 if I didn't need to access and work on my work computer. That's right in line with my original observations. If it's purely for entertainment, you can probably replace a laptop with an iPad. If it's for work, not likely.
