Potential 2012 GOP presidential contender Donald Trump says there “absolutely” is a Muslim problem in the world, and he “couldn’t believe” a mosque is being built near the site of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. Trump also told Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly Wednesday night it is important President Barack Obama produce his birth certificate, and put the issue to rest.
In the first part of an interview, the continuation of which will be aired Thursday night, Trump touched on a wide range of social and fiscal issues, including his opposition to gay marriage; his pro-life stance; his opinion that U.S. borders should be militarized to deter illegal immigration; his views on union activity; and the need to be able to shop for healthcare.
O’Reilly asked Trump whether there is a Muslim problem in the world.
“Absolutely, absolutely — I don’t notice Swedish people knocking down the World Trade Center,” Trump said. “I came out very strongly against the mosque being built virtually across the street.
“The fact is, it was so insensitive when they announced the mosque in that location,” he said. “Don’t forget, that’s my territory — Manhattan. When they announced the mosque in that location, I couldn’t believe it.”
Trump said although there is a world Muslim problem, it does not reflect on all Muslims.
“And that’s the sad part about life, because you have fabulous Muslims — I know many Muslims, and they are fabulous people, they’re smart, they’re industrious,” he said. “Unfortunately, at this moment in time, there is a Muslim problem in the world.”

Donald Trump really needs to remove the log from his own eye.
Not me. Don’t trust him, never will. He’s saying all the right things now, but to what end? He’s likely to go third party and peel away just enough votes to get O back in office.
I don’t trust him on our 2nd Amendment, but I do like the way he’s rocking the LSM boat.
I’ll vote for Trump in 2012 even if he runs as an indepedent.
I tried to point out the very same think a couple of days ago. To be successful in New York as he has been you have to be able to play dirty from time to time.
He knows something. The motivation for pushing this now is troublesome.

I agree with much of what Trump says; I also like that he doesn’t have to kiss anyone’s hind end. However, he seems a bit judgmental for a man who has not been able to remain faithful to one wife.
Trump is laying out a populist position that can win the presidency. And for the record I’m not a big Trump fan but I call’em as I see’um.
Somehow I don't see The Donald partying with "fabulous" burka-clad ladies.
I'm not exactly sure what that has to do with the subject at hand. If he were talking about BJ Clinton in a bad light I could understand your point better.
I really wanted to watch the rest of the interview, but I couldn’t take any more of Bill O’Turkeyneck after suffering through most of last night’s show.
This clinches it for me.
Trump is the ONLY one willing to tell the truth and who has the stones to go after Obama on not being a natural born citizen.
This is exactly what we need, I don’t care if he isn’t perfect on all issues, he will actually call a spade a spade and try to fix things.
O’Reilly has to smirk and laugh at Trump because his dear friend obama might be watching, and he doesn’t want to make him angry.
Well, the U.S. does, that's for sure.
That said Trump would be all over the place politically.
The reality is, so are most people.
Recently Trump has said he’s pro-life, against gay marriage, and pro-gun rights.
Unlike many politicians, I take him at his word.
