Sumi warns attorneys to watch their comments (Judge now censoring Wisconsin AG)

Before wrapping up a brief hearing Wednesday, Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi offered a word of caution to attorneys involved in high-profile lawsuits over collective bargaining in Wisconsin.

Sumi said emotions are running high over two cases she is hearing regarding Gov. Scott Walker's plan to eliminate most collective bargaining for public workers. That "spirited debate" is important in a democracy, but attorneys must keep in mind their professional ethics, Sumi said.

"They all have a responsibility to promote and not denigrate the judicial branch and, more importantly, the rule of law," she said.

She advised lawyers to review state Supreme Court rules that say: "A lawyer shall not make a statement that the lawyer knows to be false or with reckless disregard as to its truth or falsity concerning the qualifications or integrity of a judge...."

She advised lawyers to review state Supreme Court rules that say: "A lawyer shall not make a statement that the lawyer knows to be false or with reckless disregard as to its truth or falsity concerning the qualifications or integrity of a judge...." ___________________________________________________________ That statement alone would disqualify every Democrat lawyer and Judge

But on a serious note, she needs to be impeached and removed from office.

I’ll tell you...I’m about at my limit on this.

I voted and worked my ass off to help get Walker elected and he rolled over like a turtle on this.

I’ll be there to vote on Apr 5th and will continue to push friends to do the same, but there is a part of me that is seriously wondering why Walker won’t take this judge head on and use his position to make the point that she has a HUGE conflict of interest and fight for his supporters.

My vote in November didn’t count and likely my vote next week won’t either. I’m starting to question why I should vote at all.

Democrats and other liberals in public life demand civility from others.

That allows them to bend rules, avoid constitutional limits, lie, cheat, and steal with a minimum of discomfort and criticism.

The REV II clock is getting closer to midnight each day. I would not want to be on the wrong side of this one and most of the RINO’s don’e yet know it, they are on the wrong side.

I really have no dog in the fight, I’m just across the border in the UP. I too am a little surprised at this step back by Walker.
Never question whether you should vote! You only have to consider the alternatives to see how important voting is. 2010 was a prime example of that. The dems were disheartened and didn’t turnout, and lost in epic proportion.

And yet here in WI after that epic election in 2010 they have blocked every single thing Walker has done by hook and crook.

The Dems in this State have showed that elections DON’T matter.

As mentioned in another post its time to look towards whats next.

This broad knows exactly what she is doing and daring anyone to call her on the carpet. And she knows absolutely no one will because we continually allow ourselves to be ruled by these black-robed dictators.

Elections only matter, from a Democrat's point of view, if they furthur the Democrat Party's agenda.

the Democrat Party's agenda? The total and complete destruction of the United States. To turn the United States of America into one Nation of slaves with themselves [Democrats] as the masters.

Most of the population of the United States including Republicans refuse to face this fact.

I think everyone should read section 19.87(2) of Wisconsin Open Meeting Law and Rule 93 of the Wisconsin Senate Rules. The proclamation for Gov. Scott’s special session was issued in January. Special seesions and regular session of the Wisconsin legislature can be concurrent. From the reading of the plain text, there is little doubt that the Judge is a hack.

So are only recourse is anarchy/armed insurrection? BS! The lawsuit is not even about the legislation, it is about procedure. Whether the laws of WI were broken during the passage of this legislation. The judge even said this whole thing could go away by just doing it again per the open meetings statute. I get the feeling that Walker is ‘staying the course’ here because he is not sure the caucus will hold for a re-vote. Regardless how Sumi rules tomorrow this will continue on through the WI courts.
Of course what do I know. I’m just a cranky, semi tired, old fart who hunt and pecks on the internets, eh.
