Lol, my day off..I tend to sleep in. Life is a tad bit tough right now. Work is HORRIBLE. I would swear the devil is in there wreaking havoc.

May will be 10 years in that office. However grateful I am to still have a job with benefits, the past couple of years have been pure hell.

I’ve been looking on line and sending resumes out, but I cannot afford a pay cut. I’ve already lost hours at work but just budgeted myself to those changes.

Now it’s all about lies....3 gals leading those lies about others (they actually were able to get 2 people fired).

They are now against me and another, who happens to be my bff. One of these lying gals (they are totally into that vampire crap) actually started wearing a devils pentagon!!

Of course she HAD to show it to me and thrust it into my face, knowing EXACTLY what my reaction to it would be.

I just sneered and said ewwww, don’t EVER do that again. She now keeps it “hidden” under her tops.

Disgusting times we are living in....however I am grateful for my peeps here at FR, you keep me sane!!!

US appoints Farsi spokesman to reach out to Iranians

The US state department has appointed a Farsi spokesman in an attempt to reach out to Iranians while pro-democracy movements are sweeping the Middle East.

The appointment of Alan Eyre by Barack Obama's administration came after a similar move by the British Foreign Office in 2009, which infuriated the Iranian regime.

Several members of the Iranian parliament have spoken out against Barry Marston, the Foreign Office spokesman who regularly posts Farsi videos on YouTube. His videos and a blog post on human rights violations in the country by the former British ambassador to Tehran, Simon Gass,have prompted Iranian officials to accuse the UK of interfering in the country's internal affairs.

The British embassy in Iran has Farsi accounts on both Facebook and Twitter. The US state department has also set up a Twitter account in Farsi to communicate with Iranians through the internet.

The wave of demonstrations in the Middle East have been highlighting the role of social networking websites among pro-democracy activists who use them to promote and publicise their movements.

In an interview with the BBC Persian network, Eyre said his appointment was not an exceptional move by the state department.

Speaking formal Farsi, flavoured with a handful of ancient Persian expressions, Eyre said: "My appointment was not exceptional, we have spokesmen in different languages, our goal is to directly reach out to the honourable people of Iran and explain our official position to them."

Despite poor relations between Tehran and Washington, Eyre struck a conciliatory tone. "We are eager to negotiate with Iran in order to see how it is responding to the concerns of the international community toward the nature of its nuclear programme, and at the same time maintaining its right to use nuclear energy peacefully," he said.

In an unprecedented move, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency, which is controlled by the Revolutionary Guards, published a news story on Friday based on the BBC interview. The agency usually ignores BBC Persian, which is accessible only by via illegal satellite dishes in Iran.

Iran sacking row hints at Ahmadinejad power struggle

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has come under pressure to reinstate intelligence minister Heidar Moslehi in an apparent internal power struggle.

Mr Ahmadinejad accepted Mr Moslehi's resignation on Sunday, but Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei quickly ordered that he stay on in the job.

Over two-thirds of Iran's 290 lawmakers signed a statement on Wednesday warning Mr Ahmadinejad to obey the order.

Analysts say Iran's clerics view Mr Ahmadinejad as grabbing too much power.

"Replacing the intelligence minister... is not in the country's interests at all," said the parliament statement, which was read on state radio.

"You are expected to follow the leader... in supporting the intelligence minister," it added, according to a translation by the AP news agency.

Although no official reason was given, correspondents say Mr Moslehi appears to have been sacked after he dismissed an official with close ties to Mr Ahmadinejad's confidant, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei.

Mr Mashaei - whose daughter is married to the president's son - has previously angered Iranian hard-liners with his opinions.

Shortly after the disputed re-election in 2009, Mr Ahmadinejad bowed to pressure from the supreme leader to abandon Mr Mashaei as his choice for first vice-president.

The current tensions show a potentially widening gap between Mr Ahmadinejad and Ayatollah Khamenei, who has shown displeasure with the president's overreaching ambitions in the past.

But the Iranian president still has highly influential backers, including the Revolutionary Guard, which has sway over crucial areas such as Iran's nuclear programme and oil industry.

Iran cell planned attacks in Kuwait, minister says

KUWAIT (Reuters) – Kuwait's foreign minister said an Iranian spy cell uncovered by the Gulf Arab state last year monitored the U.S. military presence and possessed explosives to bomb "strategic" facilities. "We are talking about a cell whose task was not only to monitor and record the (U.S.) military presence that is in their view hostile -- the American forces presence on Kuwait lands -- but it exceeded that," Sheikh Mohammad al-Salem al-Sabah told Dubai-based Al Arabiya television.

"They had explosives and the intention to explode vital Kuwaiti facilities. They had names of officers and they had extremely sensitive information. This indicates bad intentions to harm Kuwaiti security."

OPEC-member Kuwait hosts Camp Arifjan, a vast U.S. logistics base in the desert south of the capital that serves as a staging post for U.S. forces being deployed in neighboring Iraq.

The United States has air and naval installations in Gulf Arab states, some of which are little more than 200 km (120 miles) from Iran's coast. The U.S. Central Command keeps its forward headquarters in Qatar while Bahrain hosts the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet.

Last month, a Kuwaiti court sentenced two Iranians and a Kuwaiti to death for being part of an alleged Iranian spy ring in a case that has strained relations between Kuwait and the Islamic Republic.

Earlier this month, Iran expelled three Kuwaiti diplomats in a tit-for-tat move after the Gulf emirate said it would throw out three Iranian diplomats in a row over spy allegations.

Kuwaiti media said in May 2010 that authorities had detained a number of people, Kuwaitis and foreigners, suspected of engaging in espionage for Iran. Media reports said they were accused of gathering information on Kuwaiti and U.S. military sites for Iran's Revolutionary Guards.

In my work place hourly workers are all taking financial hits and this without consideration any longer of senority....those who make the least in wages are the ones getting the hours to work. A new hire, just over Christmas, a student, is now working more hours than those in the business for years. Not going over well...many looking now for other jobs, and it doesn’t appear the company is concerned they would loose good people. It’s now more about getting employees at the least wage possible and they will train them accordingly.

Actually the old rules are no longer applied...in the end the company will get what they pay for. And do not seem concerned that will be so?

Eugene Kaspersky’s son has been kidnapped

If you don’t know who Eugene Kaspersky is, you will almost certainly recognize his last name. Eugene is the co-founder of the very successful and highly regarded Russian security company Kaspersky Lab, whose security suite protects millions of PCs around the world from hackers.

But today Eugene’s mind will not be on software security, instead the safety of his son will be top priority. News is coming out of Moscow that his 20-year-old son Ivan Kaspersky has been kidnapped and a ransom of $4.3 million issued for his release.

Eugene was in London when he heard the news, but has understandably since flown back to Moscow. Ivan is Eugene’s youngest son and is currently studying his fourth year of a Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics degree. Apprently he has been missing for two days when he was taken while travelling to work.

For the moment Kaspersky Lab is not confirming or denying the news, and there are no further details as to how the local police are handling the kidnapping. We hope they have some good leads and manage to return Ivan to his father safely.

Outside of energy companies, Kaspersky Lab is seen as one of the few Russian businesses that has managed to succeed internationally. With that being the case, whoever kidnapped Ivan likely knew how successful his father has been and decided to attempt to extort millions of dollars from him.

Russian software tycoon Kaspersky's son 'missing'

The son of Russian software entrepreneur Yevgeny Kaspersky has gone missing in Moscow and may have been kidnapped, Russian media report.

Secret service and regular police have been searching for Ivan Kaspersky, 20, for at least two days, a police source told Interfax news agency.

His father's firm, Kaspersky Lab, told a newspaper it could not confirm news he had been abducted.

Yevgeny Kaspersky made his fortune developing anti-virus software.

News of his son's abduction was reported by Russian news website Life News, quoting its own sources.

The kidnappers are demanding 3m euros (£2.6m; $4.3m) for Ivan's safe return, the website says.

According to the unconfirmed report, he was snatched while on his way to work in Moscow on Tuesday.

When contacted by Russian newspaper Gazeta, Kaspersky Lab said it could neither confirm nor deny the report.

There has been no official comment on the story.

Kaspersky Lab is regarded outside Russia as one of the country's few business success stories not related to the energy sector.

The US business magazine Fast Company recently ranked Kaspersky Lab among the Top 50 Most Innovative Companies worldwide.
