White House says Libya decision based on 'best interests'
No sense of precedent guided President Obamas decision to intervene in Libya, administration officials said Monday.
We dont make decisions about questions like intervention based on consistency or precedent," said Denis McDonough, the administration's deputy national security adviser, amid an off-camera gaggle of reporters. "We make them based on how we can best advance our interests in the region."
McDonough was speaking hours before President Obamas speech Monday night on Libya. He explained that there were compelling reasons to get involved in Libya as opposed to Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen and Syria, four other countries in the Middle East where pro-democracy crowds have battled authoritarian governments.

I would add “logic” to the list of consistency and precedent.

Using logic, we start with these:
- "Prior administrations made decisions in the Middle East based on how the United States can best advance its interests in the region."
- "No sense of precedent guided President Obamas decision to intervene in Libya, administration officials said Monday."
- "We make them based on how we can best advance our interests in the region."
And come to this conclusion:
- "Our decisions are unprecedented because they are not based on the best interests of the United States in the Middle East."

"We dont make decisions about questions like intervention based on consistency or precedent," A bold half truth that is bad enough without the additional truths the spokesman left out; as in:
"We dont make decisions about questions like intervention based on consistency or precedent [or principles other than expediency]"

That statement makes it even worse, because their actions to date have one consistency: The WH wants to advance the purposes of Al Queda and the Muslim Brotherhood.

This war is about jobs. Get world war III going and US has to build more weapons for NATO .... Good union jobs.
Do we want more GUNS or BUTTER? This is an economic war. Its a War for JOBS, TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENTS, and to Get re-elected as he wants to get people back to work with new jobs in the defense industry when all HELL breaks loose.
AXELROD AND OBUMMER have this scripted out to not only destroy the economy when WORLD WAR III erupts but he also knows that he can do anything he wants as he only answers to GEORGE SOROS.
