On balance a decent and honorable woman. She always listened to the other side. She tried to adhere to the rule of saying nothing about someone else if you don’t have anything good to say, despite the tateless proclivities of her political party of choice.

It was fairly common knowledge that Geraldine Ferraro had been fighting Multiple Myeloma for over ten years now. It is one of the most common blood cancers. There is only treatment, no cure, and more than half of those diagnosed with it die within five years of diagnosis. Geraldine lived long with the disease. Prayers for her and her loved ones.

RIP Ms Ferraro. (I am always heartened by the classy behavior of freepers as compared to the citizen of DU. Would they ever be gloating now if she had been a Republican!)

I never realized she was that age. I’m still in denial about my own.

Rest in Peace Geraldine! She was a great lady who opened so many political doors for women. She may have been on the wrong side of the isle, but she was an honorable opponent.
My prayers go with her and her family.

Wow.....she was still opining on tv during the last election cycle. Didn’t agree with much of her politics, but she was a lady. May she RIP.

Looked, well, a bit weathered you might say.Seventy plus years tends to do that to you! Especially dealing with cancer treatments instead of botox and the gym.

Often happens with cancer (as well as consumption and some other fatal illnesses): The patient seems to be getting healthy just before they die.
