Trump Won't Back Off Obama's Birth Papers

Donald Trump is not backing down from his demand that President Barack Obama produce his birth certificate and stepped up his criticism by questioning why he has not released other personal records, including college transcripts and legislative papers. The billionaire real estate tycoon and star of “The Apprentice” created a stir on Wednesday when he said on “The View” that Obama must release his birth certificate. Now Trump has reiterated his call in an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, with this simple message for Obama: Why don’t you produce your birth certificate and put to rest all speculation that you were born outside the United States? He says Obama’s birth certificate controversy is a “strange situation” — there are conflicting reports as to what Honolulu hospital he was born at, and the governor of Hawaii claims he somehow remembers Obama being born 50 years ago.

I guarantee you that the more people hear from Donald Trump, the more votes he will get. I’m on board.

Sorry, all lawsuits against Obama's citizenship status were thrown out by the lower courts. The three lawsuits that made it to the SCOTUS were dismissed.

My post was more a wakeup call about conservatives embracing a first class anus like Trump, then it was about Obama. Although both are despicable creatures.

"Trump is just getting started. Trump knows a winner when he sees one"

People would call this a "wedge issue"...but that is too crude....

a wedge is broad and wide...needs a slot to start it

a better metaphor is a SPIKE issue....

Lets hope he drives it home well and hard. in olden days of warfare the feared weapon of choice for a small insurgent band of brothers against the Kings army as the STEEL SPIKE....used to spike the guns and make the Kings superior firepower rendered useless by driving a steel spike into the touch hole of the castle cannons.

The kings knights were also susceptible to a steel spike driven in through the folds of a suit of amour....under the armpit worked best.

So The Donald is going up against the C in C of the mighty US armed forces...armed only with a rolled up paper birth certificate in the form of a spike.

Let's hope he drives it home well and hard.

If Clinton had been removed, Gore would almost certainly have been elected President in 2000. As late as the fall of 2000, the economy seemed to be in good order. Not sure that Biden could win election all things being considered. “Assuming”—to use Trump’s word—that Obama was born in Hawaii, I can’t imagine why he is reluctant to produce his birth certificate.

Trump has two major motivations in his life. Promoting Donald Trump and making money. A third if you count his multiple bankruptcies. Some FReepers give TheDonald too much credit. Kudos for his bold talk means jack squat and doesn't qualify him to be potus anymore then it does Obama.

Let's presume that whether it be due to Trump or anyone else, it's conclusively proven that O'Bambi does not meet the qualifications to hold the office. Of course, the line of succession puts Biden in the Oval Office and he gets to select his veep.

You left out a step or two. First, the House has to impeach him, and, second, the Senate has to remove him (67 needed). Until then, whatever's been proven, he's still the President.

I'd very much like to see the usurper removed from office and am curious about how it might play out. I surmise that the Bamster also would be subject to criminal prosecution as well.

Quite likely, I would imagine. However, that would be a judicial matter. The Senate only gets to remove him, not chop off his head, as in Merry Olde England.

Obama’s day of reckoning is coming. Trump hitting on this is just the beginning. It’s gonna be a very interesting election season in 2012. This fraud will be exposed.

Biden will select Hillary as his VP and then resign himself over issues of health—then it will be Palin/Trump vs Hillary/Kerry That will be a fun race.

Trump is so rich he doesn’t have to worry about whether anyone likes him or not. He can say what he wants about anything and if people don’t like it, it’s no skin off his nose.

I don’t really like him, and I don’t think he is the best we can come up with, but I am starting to become more convinced that Trump might not be a bad President.

Say what you want about the man, he’s a hardheaded business success — which takes a lot of brains, stamina, guts and creativity. I can respect that.

The character issues make me shudder, though.

Donald Trump should raise the money and run full page ads across the country in most major news papers, and TV ads.

This is not unprecedented. When Nixon left office, Ford, who was appointed, not elected, himself, appointed Nelson Rockefeller as his VP. Remember?

Although I well remember those events (I'm well on the backside of 60 and worked for Nixon against JFK in 1960), my reason for characterizing this as "unprecedented" is that this scenario would involve Obama serving in office without meeting an essential qualification.

Regardless of Richard Nixon's actions, there was no question that he was eligible for the presidency. Even as odious as Bill Clinton was, he too was a natural born citizen.

That's why I think that this Obama issue (hypothetical as it may be) presents some unique logistics.

Trump has kids. Maybe he thinks their future is more important.

I wasn't suggesting that he abandon his campaign because of personal danger. I applaud his courage and guts, his billions notwithstanding. And I agree he may well be considering his children's future, as are many people older than Trump (their grandchildren).
