That's a good one.
EL PASO, Texas - U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano said Thursday that security on the southern U.S. border “is better now than it ever has been” and that violence from neighboring Mexico hasn’t spilled over in a serious way.
Napolitano spoke at the Bridge of The Americas border crossing, after a meeting with the mayors of the border towns of El Paso, Nogales, Ariz., and Yuma, Ariz. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sanchez and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Alan Bersin also were present.
Napolitano said the Department of Homeland Security will deploy 250 more border agents and expects to have 300 more under their next budget if it’s approved. She stated that Homeland Security is investing “millions of dollars in the side of commerce and trade” to improve infrastructure and technology along the border.
The head of an organization that advocates for lower immigration says it’s absolutely outrageous that a report from the Government Accountability Office says more than half of the U.S. border with Mexico is unsecured. The GAO report found that only 44 percent of the border is operationally secure — and only 15 percent is considered airtight. In response to that report, Congressman Duncan D. Hunter (R-California) has introduced the Unlawful Border Entry Prevention Act, which would authorize an additional 350 miles of fencing along the border.
Roy Beck, founder and president of Numbers USA, says the GAO report is a sad testament. “Here we are, ten years after the 9/11 attacks and eight years of George Bush and now two years of Obama,” says Beck. “And they’ve only got 44 percent of our border secure? This is outrageous!”
Beck says this report refutes the claims of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
“This GAO report is a bombshell. Janet Napolitano has been testifying before Congress saying we don’t need any extra stuff right now because basically the border is more secure than it’s ever been. That’s what she’s been testifying. Well, the GAO report puts a lie to that,” states the immigration group’s president.
To make the border situation more complex, recently the Department of Homeland Security revealed that illegal aliens from Islamic terrorist sponsoring countries were apprehended entering the United States from Mexico.

Ah, this is the truth.
Just this minute the Austin (TX) news reported that the rapid increase in hispanics would change politics in the Southern states.
rapid increase = illegals
She wasn’t standing on the bridge when bullets came across hitting the Univeristy of Texas at El Paso so all’s good, huh. They’ve had to close the campus twice. Same thing happened to the UT campus at Brownsville, but hey, no one was killed in the violence that spilled over so let’s not take it seriously.
"There is no giant, incompetent bull-dyke in charge of the border here. Whoever says so is lying and may their livers roast in hell"
Of course it is safer. There are no Bible carrying, anti-abortion, gun toting White people crossing the border from Mexico.
So how does she explain the two vans loaded with illegals dressed as US Marines stopped on I-8? I guess they were just poor unfortunate workers displaced from AZ looking for work at Pendleton in CA.
The illegals and drug smuggler don’t stop in border cities. They just transit heading for other places inland where there are jobs and money. Border cities aren’t the issue, but around here in CA, just look at the daily prison records to see who is doing what.
