President Obama halted the exploration for oil in the Gulf of Mexico after the BP leak. What I understand there has only been one permit issued to begin new exploration. We have ANWAR where we could be drilling and pipe it 74 miles to the Alaskan Pipeline. The discoveries of oil deposits in the north central part of our country remain untouched.
