My vote for the role in which she looked most beautiful: as Rebecca in
Ivanhoe:

I remember going to see Cleopatra as a 16 year old. We had to get advance tickets and drive to Des Moines to see it. The show was interrupted a few times with a flickering screen. When we came out of the theater and drove home (about 50 miles), we could see the effects of a severe Iowa summer storm.
But what a movie and what an actress. My favorite movie of hers and Burton's is probably "The Taming of the Shrew".

That Snookie comment was insensitive. But what you just said?

And don’t forget “Giant”. What a cast that film had. Elizabeth Taylor is the kind of actress I think of when the words “movie star” are uttered. Such a classic beauty, and a very fine artist.

Why does she get a pass? Wasnt she married about 8 times? Cant comment on her morals but freepers can destroy someone like Newt Gingrich because hes been divorced? How about this: she's dead and never fancied herself presidential material.

A couple of my favorite movies are A Place in the Sun, and Cleopatra. There is a scene near the end of "A Place in the Sun" where Montgomery Clift has a memory of he and Elizabeth embracing. It is a haunting soft-focus close-up, and I have never seen any actress more beautiful on the screen, ever.
It was a different time and a different place, and there will never be another Elizabeth Taylor.

Cant comment on her morals but freepers can destroy someone like Newt Gingrich because hes been divorced? Liz Taylor never had aspirations of running for President. And yes, that makes a difference.
