Thank you for the explanation, but it seems that WLS needs to do some explaining.

At 7:30 this morning Don read what sounded like my short email and said that as he had googled the story he wasn't entirely sure of the truth of it and decided not to go with it. He did explain what the story allegedly was: someone, perhaps Barry's mom, applied for a scholarship for him, but it required him to be a foreign student. He apparently did receive the scholarship, which means he or whoever applied for the scholarship did claim that he was a foreign student from Indonesia. He didn't say that the story had been debunked but that it was something that needed further corroboration. I also emailed him the link to the FR thread.

In other words, he briefly fell for an internet hoax, planned to talk about it on his show, but before he got around to it, he figured out it was bunk.
