You may not know this, but our little Mars rover was running around on the planet Mars, and NASA is in Houston, Lee's district in Congress, so they brought her there as a matter of respect. And, in an absurd attempt to show everybody how smart she was she asked NASA, while the cameras were rolling, if the Mars rover would go over to where the astronauts had planted the flag. The problem was that nobody had been to Mars yet and they still havn't been! Sheila Jackson Lee had confused the moon and Mars. My guess is she spends a lot of time on both in many ways.

Sheila Jackson Lee - proof that a brain is not required for success in the U.S.A.
That other brilliant congressman’s question about the island tipping over still scares me more for some reason.......
But because she is a good Democrat, this will be ignored by the MSM.
On the other hand, people still laugh at Dan Quayle years later for misspelling potato.
NASA is in Clear Lake. Ron Paul's district.
He didn't even misspell it, he used an alternate spelling.
She is what is the matter with her homeland.
re “the problem is that nobody has been to Mars yet”.
Wrong: Sheila has, without an oxygen helmet. Causes brain damage, you know.
She is proof that not all life evolved upwards.
The larger issue is all those folks from her district that keep sending her back to DC, have just got to be “felony stupid” or brain dead, or both.
Quale didn’t misspell potato but the plural. He simply added an “s” to potato when the correct spelling should have been potatoEs. This is such a common error that only a MSM in search of a manufactured issue would even have wasted their time (and ours) on it. Yes, the incident had an element of humor that should have taken about 5 minutes of news time. Instead, the liberal MSM converted a simple error into a campaign to make a respectable person look like an ignorant boob who had no more than a second grade education. It’s incredible (and shameful) that this deliberate MSM attack has made a simple spelling error the legacy of a patriotic and capable American public servant. Meanwhile, that same MSM doesn’t give a damn if Obama is a natural born citizen pursuant to Article.II, Section. 1. of the U.S. Constitution.
He didn't even misspell it, he used an alternate spelling.
No, he added an 's' without adding an 'e' first (paraphrasing).
What's sad is that Quayle corrected the kid's spelling based on 'correct answer' cards prepared by and given to Quayle by the public school teachers conducting the spelling bee. Using an ultimate 'e' is an alternate spelling, but archaic enough that it really shouldn't count. In the video, Quayle simply watches the kid write 'potato' on the blackboard and then says "are you missing a little something on the end?', after glancing at the answer cards in his hand.
