A hard-core group of liberal House Democrats is questioning the constitutionality of U.S. missile strikes against Libya, with one lawmaker raising the prospect of impeachment during a Democratic Caucus conference call on Saturday.
Reps. Jerrold Nadler (N.Y.), Donna Edwards (Md.), Mike Capuano (Mass.), Dennis Kucinich (Ohio), Maxine Waters (Calif.), Rob Andrews (N.J.), Sheila Jackson Lee (Texas), Barbara Lee (Calif.) and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D.C.) all strongly raised objections to the constitutionality of the presidents actions during that call, said two Democratic lawmakers who took part.
Kucinich, who wanted to bring impeachment articles against both former President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney over Iraq only to be blocked by his own leadership asked why the U.S. missile strikes arent impeachable offenses.
Kucinich also questioned why Democratic leaders didnt object when President Barack Obama told them of his plan for American participation in enforcing the Libyan no-fly zone during a White House Situation Room meeting on Friday, sources told POLITICO.
And liberals fumed that Congress hadnt been formally consulted before the attack and expressed concern that it would lead to a third U.S. war in the Muslim world.

Republicans are in control. Let’s see what we voted for in november.
This from the people who routinely shred and run roughshod over the Constitution. They do not care one whit for the "supreme law of the land." But they are, of course, too happy to use it for their own selfish interests.
How many votes would be needed? How's this process work?
I agree with Kucinich on this. I never thought I would say that. Obama does have the ability to bring people together!
stop him @ the border on his way back from Rio... ask him for his passport and any other verifying documentation
last i checked, people were unsure if he had a passport that wasn’t phonied up when he came on the national stage
Bfl.
We told them a long time ago he would get rid of them.
I totally agree with Dennis. Did I really say that?
They ARE and now is the time to pull Bambi's plug. Enough Senators agree now and the house could easily bring the charges. Give the "One" a nice coming home present.
if he’s impeached, all the things he has signed stand. if he’s removed because he’s not eligible to be potus, everything he has signed is null and void, including the freaks on the supreme court, who will be there for years. perhaps because he’s so weak politically, we can get him for not being eligible, soon
That Super Moon last night sure had some silly effects on people...oh, wait...
good grief. he’s performing in front of children without a teleprompter
Democrats prove that Zombies exist. See how quickly the eat their own?
It doesn't matter if attacking Libya is a good thing or not a good thing. It doesn't get that far. Obama had no legal, or moral authority to attack them without Congressional approval. He doesn't work for the UN, he works for us.
Where are the Repubs on this?
FYI TO THE OHIO PING LIST..
IMO: Kucinich is in a CYA mode.. His days in office are limited once redistricting take place..!
The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation. Barack Obama, December 20, 2007
Go DK!
uh, if it gets rid of that pestilence Obama, hey, I am in!
