Just in case you're interested...
Little traffic, little crime, great schools, high employment, terrible weather, great community feel, lots of churches, lots of great parks, lots of pheasant hunting. The pace of life is just fine, thanks.
The 120 year old clock on the Minnehaha County Courthouse in Sioux Falls, SD was rebuilt a few years ago and a friend of mine, a master wood worker, remade the clock hands. Yes, we did joke about him having time on his hands. PS... Sioux Falls is a lot more cosmopolitan than Aberdeen... we now have an Indian and two Vietnamese restaurants.
Somebody finally got smart and sprayed the wooden works with WD-40?
That’s how I start my grandfather clock when it gets stubborn.
The problem with WD-40 is that it’s NOT a lubricant (I believe it says so on the can.) If you don’t clean the dirt out of the stuck object, it’ll just stick later when the WD-40 evaporates.
If you aren’t allergic, lavender oil is supposed to be a good choice of lubricant and actually a good polish, although expensive. Of course, you will smell like a 90-year-old woman after applying it.
