Fox news saying they left the plant
CNN is confirming that workers were withdrawn due to high radiation levels.
Is Obama going to be investigating, ‘wax’, technology?
They never left.
News media lied.
They are still there and back at work.
Things are pretty much going as planned after a 9.0 earthquake and 40’ tsunami - followed by a few fires and cracked concrete - explosions - and other problems. Yes they withdrew about 750 of their employees.
But again - not a big deal. They only need a few to work on these small issues that remain.
By this time next week it will all be over. The media will move on to the next story - perhaps covering the towns that were completely wiped out by water. Tens of thousands of people died by the floods. How many have died from the nuke leak? None?
Maybe a couple from the explosion.
This is certainly not a big deal as far as meltdowns go. The term is way overused.
They could all completely melt down and it wouldn’t be a big deal.
I’ve worked with Japanese Engineers in the steel mills. PhD’s fill jobs we normally fill with BS Engineers. The PhD’s have BS Engineers that report to them. Methodical and take a long time to get things done.
We, on the other hand, mostly recognize the value of good enough quicker. That does not mean sloppy work. Good engineers rely on science, logic, experience and sometimes intuition.
Chernobyl had 4 reactors. Reactor 4 was the one the one that melted down. They continued to operate the other three reactors until the late 90’s.
The news media did not lie. I watched the news conference...
It is hard to believe that the radiation levels will decline without the reactors being attended to.
That was mean.
They had to wait for approval to be exposed to 2 times the maximum radiation previously allowed.
Halliburton + Bechtel + US Military for transport (air/sea/land) can slam amazing equipment into any place. Of course, there would be a key hitch to this and that would be a BHO person doing his “present” thing.
“Made “The Day After” look like a comedy.
“The Day After” was just a mess of a movie.”
Typical Hollywood BS
They're feeding you a load of corn, cornfedcowboy...
Unfortunately, when if comes to big events that change rapidly, ya can't believe a word coming out of CNN or FOX...Throw in the fact the Japanese have difficulty being forthright, and it's just a world class rumor fest.
Yeah levels got a little high - it happens. Not a big deal. Something one would expect when we deal with something like this. Got to pull back for a little and let things calm down.
Now that are back in there. No doubt this will probably be resolved in the next couple of days.
As long as we don’t get another 8.0 - that would be bad.
Hard to say if that would happen - supposedly it may. Who knows.
Right now it seems like everything is going as planned with little surprises.
If things were totally in chaos then believe me you would know it by now. There also wouldn’t be anyone there working.
This is a controlled environment with workers containing the problems as they pop up.
All of this fits within their emergency plan document. They are doing their job.
Doing it quite well at that.
I am not worried.
If I lived within a block or two of the place then I might be worried. But beyond that - doubt it is an issue.
Guess we will see.
When life gives you corn...........make ethanol.
Our world-tourist-in-chief. Can congress defund his vacations and trips outside of Cashington?
Obooba said he was deeply saddened by the events of today
- then he was off to fild some basketball crap or crap on a basketball - I am not sure which
Yup. It doesn't get any bleaker than that. I remember back in the '80s, I had to have it special ordered on video from the store; no US TV network would touch it, so consequently there was little demand for it on video.
Feeling too cheery? Like life a bit too much? Well, the cure for that is available right here on the tubes of the internet!
Up 400 right now; higher earlier.
Eh that looks like sea fog to me - perhaps some steam there- you get that in cold mornings at these type of plants - sea fog and steam coming off the warmer water. We have it here all the time.
