Why would you position one of your most valued assets right over a few days old 9.0 fault line?

I don't know for a fact, but I'd imagine that an aircraft carrier afloat over a 9.0 earthquake probably wouldn't experience much more than a little extra bobbing.

You may be right. The tsunami wouldn’t seem to be a problem.

I do wonder though, what happens to surface water if the sea floor drops twenty feet. Does the surface drop twenty feet?
