Discussing the issue in the context of the Gabrielle Giffords shooting, President Obama penned an opinion column on guns that was published Sunday in the Arizona Daily Star, a Tucson newspaper.
The president acknowledged that gun control is one of the most sensitive of all hot-button issues:
"I know some aren't interested in participating. Some will say that anything short of the most sweeping anti-gun legislation is a capitulation to the gun lobby. Others will predictably cast any discussion as the opening salvo in a wild-eyed scheme to take away everybody's guns. And such hyperbole will become the fodder for overheated fundraising letters."

Bambi’s real funny. Everyone knows that gun control laws only get followed by the law abiding. Result? Criminals are the only ones with guns........Course that might just suit Bambi to a T.

How are you going to do that, genius!
CRIMINALS DON’T CARE ABOUT THE LAW!
That’s what makes them criminals moron.
You and Holder know that.

"That's why our focus right now should be on sound and effective steps that will actually keep those irresponsible, law-breaking few from getting their hands on a gun in the first place."We already have state and federal laws that do both, so why the talk of more laws?
Typical RAT Bullshit... more laws, more laws, we need more laws...

Already been done dum bass.
“Today we make America safe by taking guns out of the hands of criminals”! -Lyndon B Johnson, when he signed the 1968 gun control act into law.

They tried it in Britain, but crime went up since only the criminals had the guns. Of course Obama the idiot wants to copy Britain’s failed healthcare too, so he isn’t too bright.

"That's why our focus right now should be on sound and effective steps that will actually keep those irresponsible, law-breaking few from getting their hands on a gun in the first place."I know a great place to start. How about stopping ATF from providing the criminals with guns while trying to make a bigger case.

Obama: Keep guns away from criminals
Better idea: Keep criminals away from guns. By keeping criminals away from society.
Unfortunately, that'll wreak havoc with Obama's/the Dem's voting base.

wild-eyed scheme to take away everybody's gunsThats what all of these laws are about. It's just that some gun laws are more incremental than others.
Criminals don't care about gun laws and will get guns illegally.

Looks like the Illegal, a former "constitutional law lecturer," who performed the academic prodigy of holding on to that sinecure without publishing a single academic article on his "specialty," or any other legal matter for twelve years is embarrasing himself again by showing he knows as abysmally little about firearms laws as he does about the health insurance industry. If the nitwit had just checked with some of his DOJ attorneys he'd have actually learned of Instacheck, a Federal program that's carefully designed to keep felons and mentally ill from getting firearms. Further, and miraculously, he'd have learned that the nitwit sheriff's actions and inactions are what kept Lochner from being spotted and stopped by Instacheck.
