“Major fail for the American news media in this crisis.”
No kidding. The 5th largest recorded EQ in history sets off a tsunami which wipes out the NE coast of Japan (which I will be shocked if we don’t see a 5-7 figure death toll from that event alone) and what looks to be a nuclear plant meltdown in process and the MSM here in the US is asleep at the wheel.

As I posted, we have been through decades of continuous layoffs at all the news agencies and networks, following purchases by major corps. There is no longer in existence the network of reporters many of us grew up with.
I grew up in an age when the networks and agencies had veteran news staff worldwide, the only delay would have been a few minutes to get Cronkite, Huntley, Brinkley to the studio.
CNN finally breaking in with reference to explosion.

None of this is making sense. Can our entire media be this outrageously incompetent? Are they afraid we will panic, and do what exactly?

That's because it can't be used to prop up Obaama.
