I heard the 190 people with radiation sickness as well. It is extremely hard to know what is trustworthy information at this point.

A bit of advise....

DO NOT trust what you hear on CNN or FOX...

Good article on the subject.

Also:

see the differences of that mess vs. today’s mess.

Its funny. We normally sleep through all these quakes that rack the house at night, and when on the train, or at the office, we just continue work as the lighting, blinds, and buildings sway. When I was at the pub last night waiting for the trains, we had several hard aftershocks that bumped the entire building and moved us, and we just continue talking and drinking and saying, “oh, there’s another one, its gonna be an interesting weekend...”

I’m not trusting any of them- I’m trying to read between the lines.

That’s true, but only for someone who knows what they’re doing. If someone panics and takes more than the recommended amount, they can indeed block the thyroid - it can be used for emergency hyperthyroid treatment.

That stuff isn’t meant to be played around with.

Wasn’t the problem with Chernobyl that the graphite caught on fire and was almost impossible to put out, with the smoke contributing to the spread of contaminants?

Yes.

You can't. Television, FOX, CNN are all run and controlled by the state. Besides watching television fashion models discuss issues they have no knowledge about, is just too much....lol

Last night, while those in the U.S. that stayed up most of the night, following and watching the nuclear reactor explosion, CNN and FOX were discussing homeless in the U.S. and re-running old quake images for almost 2 hours, before airing the video of the reactor blowing up...

No need to apologize - most people have abstract thinking skills.

Yes I know, I was up and posting.

There’s something going on here that’s kind of disturbing. I don’t trust the doomsday people- but I’m also not trusting the pooh-pooh it’s no big deal folks either.

What is really making me mad is the agenda pro-anti nuke seems to be what’s driving this- instead of the fact that one of our strongest allies in the world is in some deep trouble - I don’t care what your agenda is- the facts are what count here...agenda be damned.

lol... Gotta be careful who you take bunker advice from.

A guy like this isn't the type to be listening to in a TEOTWAWKI situation.;)

. .NOT to alarm the public.., they got that from Bill Clinton's ancestor, the capt. of the Titanic;

Those look to be the turbine buildings NOT the containment buildings to me.

I think the turbine buildings are more toward the beach line behind the Rx buildings.

I'm pro-nuclear power, and have worked in the industry in the past. So let me get that out right away.

I think what is happening, at least on my part, is to deflect the panic stricken anti-nuke people who seek to exploit this in this time of low information and high anxiety.

Wait for the facts before jumping to conclusions is my advice at this time. The anti-nuclear people are trying to stir up strong anti-nuclear sentiment because this is their time to do so. There is plenty of time later on to side with them if the fact come out in that direction.

Being in Seattle I’m probably near the path. BUT - “dilution is the solution to pollution”! That, and I think it was 36 hours travel time on the jet stream, but lots of the nasties have half-lives measured in hours I think.

I’m with you- I’m definitely pro-nuke and I just hate the talking points this situation is presenting to the left. Nevertheless- it sounds serious- but I’m a civilian. A little while ago on FOX I heard the evacuation number has been risen to 140,000. That’s a lot of people. Will they all have to be tested on the way out?

It’s such a horrible situation and the media is weird- hype followed by down-playing followed by Charlie Sheen.

What type of reactor was this one? How is it cooled?

Wow. Apparently you jump on new catastrophic threads without reading the older ones. We have known the reactor type since a few hours after the emergencies were declared. Get up to speed please. Just got some rest myself and woke up and read that a second reactor may meltdown.

These are weird time.....

.....Charlie Sheen just can't shut up nor does he realize he makes himself seem even more crazy by not shutting up.

.....8.9-9.1 Richter EQ in Japan

.....Tsunami in Japan

.....EQ/Tsunami induced nuclear plant mega-problems.

I pray for Japan and the people in the plant dealing with this.

I think we can handle Charlie Sheen with duct tape!
