As far as the quake, where it hit was a relatively small town in rural surroundings. It was quite a distance from Tokyo. Having said that, if there is a real nuclear meltdown, the whole country may be SOL, and depending on the direction of winds, who knows how much of the world (including at least one of our coasts) will be affected by radiation.

I know it. I’m praying the others are simmering down. So hard to know what’s going on, and even when you do, what truly that means. So many variables with these incredibly complex systems.

exactly, Govts do it all the time, they dont tell you its too late, until its too late. Never trust a govt to have your best interests in a national emergency. Trust yourself.

I say this because where I live in Alaska we usually get what you have weatherwise.
Now reporting that a 1 hour exposure near the exploded plant is equal to a one year normal radiation exposure. NHKTV.
WOW Radiation level at #1 plant is so high at one hour it equals what people are usually exposed to for one year...that ain’t good news.
