I’d rather see a properly administered, regulated, and enforced guest worker program than the chaos we have now.

Workman, who owns a construction company, went on to tout the virtues of illegal aliens, saying: “There are millions of people living amongst us. The vast majority are just honest, hardworking people.”

Spare me. Hire Americans. Build a wall. The proposed solution is basically more of the problem. That's dumb.

In 2009 alone, Texas lost more than 365,000 jobs

Wait till another 200,000 move there... They aint seen nothing yet.

This would also help fill a lot of welfare offices since that green card would make them eligible to LEGALLY receive freebies.

What is with Texas?

Selling green cards to help pay Texas debt?

Last week some moron wanted to pass a bill which would punish everyone that hired illegal aliens except illegal maids, landscapers, and others...lol

Just remember Republicans, if Texas goes Blue you can forget EVER winning another election. That is not a threat but a fact.

When Republicans sell out the country in a heartbeat, is it any wonder that we have a commie in the WH?

Workman is also representing a lot of high tech firms in the Austin area who want to bring in cheap IT workers from India/Pakistan and have them replace American workers at a fraction of the labor costs.

In the 50’s there was a guest worker program whereby farm associations contracted with a labor company to provide farm workers who came in from Mexico to work a harvest or whatever, and were taken back to Mexico. I saw it while working in the San Joaquin valley, CA. It worked well. It came to an end with the advent of, you guessed, a union.

To tell the truth, this is part of my plan on immigration.

The only difference is,......"BUILD THE DAMN WALL FIRST!!!!!

Frankly I don't care after the wall is built and we can stop illegals and control who comes and goes and we know who they are. After that point, frankly, we can negotiate who comes in and how many. If an employer wants to cover the expenses a migrant worker might have, fine, bring em on. If they pay for their own medicine, schools and court costs, bring em on. Frankly, they work harder than most Americans for less money. If they cut off their thumb, the employer should pay the costs. If they bring their kids, they have to pay tuition.

But in order to have any of this talked about we must be able to stop the illegals and control who and how many come in. If farmer has a crop coming, he could put in a request for 50 pickers and cover their costs. If a hotel needs a janitor, bring proof that you opened the job up for 2 weeks and no American wanted it and then we can requisition a migrant for the job. Need a landscaper, same thing. I'm not against having the workers do jobs no American wants, but I think we can find roofers, bricklayers, carpenters, and many more if the employer knew he would incur any costs of the workers he requests. We could pre qualify workers and do a background check on the applicants to make sure their DNA isn't on file for a rape or murder and have their fingerprints on file. If they are a felon, they can't apply. if they are clean and trustworthy, we can use the workers. If they are arrested waving the Mexican flag and attending La Raza rally's, send them back.

All of this could be done easily if we just had a fence that worked. I know we couldn't get 100%, but I would consider it successful to get it to the hundreds instead of hundreds of thousands per year. But we can't even consider any legislation until the flow is stopped. Any legislation for migrants now means we will never stop the illegals.

“....would give illegal aliens a green card and allow them to work legally in the state.”

.
Would this also mean that they will be allowed to bring their families to Texas? Who will cover their medical expenses? Does this green card mean that they can apply for citizenship after 5 years?
