“The abruptness of the removals was perhaps nowhere more evident than at St. Philomena Church in Lansdowne. There, parishioners learned of their pastor’s departure on the same day his Lenten message appeared in the parish bulletin and was posted on its website.
‘Happy Lent!’ the Rev. Paul A. Castellani wrote. ‘Lent is an opportunity for us to stop for a few moments and to think how God has worked in our lives, and continues to do so, even when things do not go as we have planned or expected.’
Castellani did not return phone calls.”
“Your question was.,..”
Read the thread. My original question was how the recent list of 21 priests was generated.
I was directed to review the grand jury’s reports (both of them), but neither contained the priests on the list of 21.
It seems the list has come about a result of the assistant DA’s review of the original case documentation, but there is still no explanation of exactly why the specific 21 priests were listed.
I’m not an apologist. I’m a Catholic trying to get these homos and perverts tossed out of MY Church while at the same time preventing Catholic haters (aka - YOU) from using the actions of these perverts as an excuse to destroy my faith.
How clever! When you can’t compete in a debate on facts, post a picture and run away.
You’re a coward.
“A window into one case, however, was offered by a lawsuit involving Msgr. Michael Flood, who remained in ministry after being accused in 2009 of sexual abuse.
The suit said Msgr. Michael Flood - until Tuesday the pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish in Glenside - molested a student at St. John Neumann High School in Philadelphia in the late 1970s.
When the suit was filed, the archdiocese said Msgr. Michael Flood denied the abuse. Church officials said they could not investigate the claim because the suit did not name his accuser.”
What is there to debate about your sarcastic reply?
I never cease to be amazed at folks like you who will go to any length to protect the mother church. Folks who find it incredibly painful to simply denounce pedophiles.
And if one does eek out a denouncement it’s always followed by a qualifier.
Now I ask, who is the coward?
Days after the grand jury report, the archdiocese hired attorney Gina Maisto Smith, a former sex crimes prosecutor in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, to review the personnel files of all the priests named in the grand jury’s report.
I believe she may have been the person, in consultation with the diocese, who reviewed the grand jury report and came up with the 21 names.
What a damning Grand Jury Report - This is an evil organization from top to bottom.
This sickness is endemic to the Catholic Church and for all the abuse cases that have come to light I am sure that they are only the tip of the iceberg of depravity.
No spark of humanity pierced the dark souls of the so called religious, as all involved sought to further traumatize the victims to avoid “scandal” as surely this was the normal procedures to be carried out in the event that such a complaint should be made.
Over over again, world-wide, the same inhumane criminal procedures have been uncovered, the same pattern that could only have been directed from Rome.
Let us prey!
Ping
There absolutely was no spark of humanity when these children were called liars after they summoned the courage to speak.
I am protecting the Church, and will continue to do so.
I am NOT protecting the pervert or those who allowed them to continue their behavior. These people, the enablers included, need to be booted from the Church and sent away to rot.
What I won’t do is cower from defending my faith when knuckleheads like you come along and try to lump the majority of Catholics in with the perverts.
If defending the vast majority of priests who do His work is a “qualifier,” so be it.
Using your logic, we should shut down the Boy Scouts and the YMCA because perverts have infiltrated their ranks in the past. Or for that matter, the military.
What you’re afraid of is admitting your hate for Catholics, and that you are hiding behind the acts of these perverts as an excuse to attack Catholics.
I stand by my statement that you are a coward, as you have exhibited a cowardly act.
Wow, hyperbole much?
See you later, hater.
NCO really does stand for No Chance on the Outside, doesn’t it?
***Another good FRoman Catholic attacks my military service after running out of arguments to defend their pedophile priests!***
Once again proves that deep down Froman Catholics are really libs.
Explains how so many proabortion pols are elected in Roman Catholic districts.
It stinks but have not worked with him for years.I will find out more.
Lighten up, Francis.
I was in the AF, too.
You can take anything and turn it into an anti-Catholic rant, can’t you?
The NCO joke is well worn in the ranks. You should know that.
Please let me know what happens...
BTW, you left your MOM off your whining baby distribution list.
I’ve attended the March for Life in Washington for the past 8 years. How about you?
