In a land of rule with law and order, rabble protesters would be met at the capitol like this:

I thought a judge had banned protesters from the Capitol after hours. Is the another case of union law enforcement sitting on their hands in solidarity with the protesters?

Republicans legislate. Democrats protest.

Howard Fineman on MSNBC saying this is a conspiracy among Republican strategists to provoke a violent, Sixties style reaction by students, unions, and liberals in Madison.
Fineman names Haley Barbour, the Koch Brothers, Karl Rove and others as part of the conspiracy.
Fineman says the Republicans want to get Obama involved to defend unions and paint the Democrats as extremists. He warns liberals to not take the bait.

Hmmm. I was waiting for the final line to be: “Howard Fineman involuntarily committed for massive psychotic break with reality.”

Sadly, it's gonna get uglier as the socialists will NOT go quietly in the night. The same will be happening in EVERY major city when the welfare dollars run out, or specially targeted handouts that have been going on for decades can no longer be funded.
It will get MUCH WORSE, before it gets better.
The positive thing in this mess is that those in "the middle" who ignored what conservatives have been seeing happening for years, are now seeing what we were talking about.
Fund-raising for the Progressives will be a MAJOR factor in the near-term, and Unions KNOW that the Progressives won't win in 2012 IF they can't keep the taxpayers' funding of Union dues going indefinitely.
That's what it's all about; TAXPAYER subsidies of the Unions and the Progressive Agenda.
The Socialist Workers' Party IS the SEIU, AFSCME, NEA, AFT, and every other pseudonym used by these public parasites.

Um, it’s after hours. The capital building needs to be closed, like a sane society demands. The protesters can spend the night on the streets.

I was watching the live coverage on 3 channels here - one of the reporters said that the assembly was going to be in session all night - and thus the Capitol would be open. Now, that might have meant the Democrat part of the assembly - as this is how they got the slugs in the building overnight originally.
