$3.79 at a non-Wal Mart controlled store here in NE Alabama yesterday. ALL food prices have been rising. I have noted a MARKED increase in fruits and fresh veggies increasing the past couple of weeks, and that at WalMart.

I have noted a MARKED increase in fruits and fresh veggiesI needed one green and one red pepper for a recipe this weekend. $2.99 each.
There was a sign posted that the Mexican freeze was responsible.

Fresh veggies especially took a huge hit recently with the freeze that extended down into Mexico. It will 6-8 weeks before produce can be marketable size after the freeze.

I have noted a MARKED increase in fruits and fresh veggies increasing the past couple of weeks, and that at WalMart. Part of the increase in fruits and veggies is that freeze early in February. It wiped out crops clear down into Mexico. I read that veggies should start getting back to "normal" around the end of April - when freshly planted crops start bearing.
