They’re held by the people they came to help? What’s up with that?

Makes no sense for them to capture the soldiers who came to help them.

It is a bit confusing, isn’t it?

Obama loves chaos.
I used to think his apparent indifference to world turmoil and natural disasters was simply narcissistic self-absorbtion, but now I think it's obvious that he is a revolutionary to his core and just wants to see the world burn.

Guess it depends on whom the soldiers came to help.

Makes no sense for them to capture the soldiers who came to help them. Yeah, seems odd. You might take them into custody until their identities and "boda-fides" could be determined. After all, from the rebels' viewpoint, these could be government infiltrators. However, once established as the help they've been looking for...

That’s the problem with dealing with tribal societies in that part of the world. No matter what you do, you’ll irritate someone else.

Well, depending upon what the Brits were there to do, those ungrateful tribesmen might just have a righteous beef.

While I admire the legendary professionalism of both the SAS and MI6, it bears mentioning that the British Government also has a vested interest in preventing a full disclosure of the circumstances surrounding the release of the Lockerbie bomber, their relationship to BP's Libyan oil production and God only knows what else. Depending on how things turn out in Libya, there could be some seriously compromising disclosures for the UK who right know is probably wise to play both sides against the other.

Do not expect gratitude from Muslims. They really resent being “helped” by infidels.
Witness the Kosovar Muslim terrorists who recently shot several American troops in Germany—presumably because it was American troops who helped hand over Kosovo to the Muslims.
