That reminds me of Oceanside, CA in 1967-68....American version of Tijuana; Tatoo 'parlors', ripoff bars and laundromats. That town totally sucked; I don't plan on checking to see if it's improved in the last 40-plus years.
For the few residents there that didn't suckle off the teat of the Marines, we were simply a/k/a "service trash".
