House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is being "bossed around by a bunch of freshman," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's (D-Nev.) office charged Wednesday.
Reid's top spokesman fired back at Boehner, who will say in a speech today that Reid has no plan to address spending and debt.
"Thats tough talk from someone who is being bossed around by a bunch of freshman," Reid's communications director, Jon Summers, said in a statement.
Boehner charged Reid with having no serious plan to cut spending and jabbed at the Senate's top Democrat for not having taken action on the House-passed bill funding government for the rest of the fiscal year, which cuts $61 billion for the budget. That passed last month.
Reid and President Obama have rejected that bill. In the interim, the Senate is set Wednesday morning to approve a bill funding the government for an additional two weeks, at reduced levels, beyond Friday, when the budget runs out.
Summers pointed to that vote as a concrete sign of the Senate's action on spending, hitting the Speaker in the meanwhile.
"It's surprising that the Speaker of the House is unaware that the Senate is voting on a bill to fund the government and cut spending this morning," he said.

Geeee-
Reid is being bossed around by his mob connections & the good old boys running Nevada.
Borhner is getting advice & pushes from new members of Congress.
Who is in the wrong???
I don’t remember voting for any of those Mob bosses & other behind-the-scenes- goold old boys when I voted last November, Harry.
You are an embarrassment. NOt only to Nevada, but to the whole country. I will truly celebrate when you are gone.
Reid, those freshmen represent thousands of people from their district who have a right to representative government.
That's tough talk coming from Jon Summers
Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California, was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Senator Harry Reid’s great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889.
Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.
The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory:
On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: ‘Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.’
So Judy recently e-mailed Senator Harry Reid for information about their
great-great uncle.
Harry Reid:
Believe it or not, Harry Reid’s staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:
“Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed.
how a story is told can make big a difference
I wish he was incompetent. He passed so many bills last year that our heads spin. He ruined a lot of stuff last year. Now if only John Boehner would start passing some good bills. So far the new House has not done much.
Kind of like “the young” Marxist and Communist college students tossing around the DemocRAT Party’s old white men that think that Americans stink.
I could have told you, with a name like Jon Summers, he was homo before you even posted this.
Gossipy gay bitches like Jon Summers are a dime a dozen. He just wishes the “freshmen” were bossing HIM around, he would love it.
If so, praise the Lord!
If that is what it takes to save the nation, we're lucky the freshmen are there.
