Fox News Bret Baier just announced that the network has put a 60-day suspension on the paid contributor deals with both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum who are both considering a run for president in 2012.
The suspension is effective for 60 days, then on May 1st, their contracts will be terminated unless they notify FOX they are not running for president, said Baier, reporting from Washington, DC during Happening Now.
Fox News host Mike Huckabee and contribtor Sarah Palin, whose names are also being considered as 2012 GOP candidates, are not included in this 60-day suspension.
This had been contemplated from the start, from the very beginning, but that is effective today the suspension of the contributor arrangement for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, said Baier.

An whoraldo, too.....
Careful! Republicans have a bad habit of nominating the "next guy in line"......
You left out the second digit in your number.
Rove should also go because he clearly uses his air time to built up some candidates while tearing down others. He’s a political operative with a personal agenda and should not be presented as any sort of commentator or analyst.
Probably some contractual reason.
“As they should. I wish they would cancel Rove, for other purposes however “
Amen to that. LOL!!
From what I've been hearing, that would be Romney, not Newt ..... (clarification: I am definitely not a Romney or Gingrich fan).
Yep, and they have to handle her differently anyway. Nobody cares about Newt or Rick, but I'm sure that they realize what an instant s**t storm they would bring down upon themselves if they terminated Sarah Palin.
This is precisely WHY she cannot announce just yet. Newt and Rick pretty much did, and just got canned for it, or so Fox says.
“...I wish they would cancel Rove, for other purposes however :)”
AMEN and AMEN!!!
Me neither. Just making an observation. Personally, I like Herman Cain the best of the Republican wannabes. Uncle Herman is the only one that regularly speaks about Freedom and Liberty being the very cornerstone of our Republic. I met him once a few years back when he was running for Senate. He's the genuine article.
I'm not convinced that either of them are going to run, especially the Huckster......
I think it’s brilliant. These guys have been keeping their faces on TV and their names in the news thanks to Fox for years, and because of that exposure some group of expensive consultants/pollsters has probably been trying to convince them that the insane idea of a run for the presidency would be feasible.
So they make all these stupid visits to Iowa, SC etc to tease us and test the waters. Now Fox is calling their bluffs. Either keep your face on TV or enter a contest you’ll certainly lose: you can’t have it both ways.
I only watch Fox for 1 hour a day any more. 3 AM - 4 AM

Might as well suspended the whole network. Hannity loves his buddy McCain and his Buddy Rove. Greta has Lindsey Graham and Orrin Hatch on too much. Megyn Kelly has too much Krystal Ball and Susan Estrich on and attacked birthers. Shep and Gerlado are too liberal for Fox News. And So on...

I think it has to do with organizing an exploratory committee.
