I read all seven pages. She is stupid, lazy, mentally-ill, and completely unaccountable. She is an embarrassment and a prime example of the idiots in Congress. Shame on Houston for electing this fool.
The strength - and the tragedy - of representative democracy is that you generally get the kind of representatives you deserve.
That’s why the current unrest in the Middle East is likely to end up as tragedy - the population is largely uneducated, and the mores of their culture are hardly hospitable to the kind of personal responsibility it takes to put together a working democracy.
And that’s why the situation even in our country is so grave - large segments of the population, concentrated mostly in urban areas, will elect pretty much any demagogue who can garner party support and collect enough campaign cash to saturate the airways.
Sometimes it’s a total moron like Jackson Lee, and sometimes it’s a slimy opportunist like Deadfish Emanuel.
And I’m not sure which is the worse.
Her arrogance was on grand display during the town hall meetings. She accepted a cell phone call in the middle of a constituent talking to her.

Jackson Lee has always been quick to assign racism as a motive of her political opponents and others. In 1997, for example, The Hill reported that the newly-elected congresswoman asked NASA officials whether the Mars Pathfinder photographed the American flag astronaut Neil Armstrong had planted on the surface of Mars. When it was pointed out that the flag in question was on the moon, not Mars, Jackson Lee cited bigotry. “You thought you could have fun with a black woman member of the Science Committee,” her then chief of staff wrote in a letter to the editor.
In 2003, she demanded that more Hurricanes be named with African American-sounding names.
Can you send this thread to Sheila JACKSON Lee’s office? I would love to see her implode as she reads it.
