"My question is: What is Obama going to do to reduce the bloated salaries and benefits federal government workers get compared to private sector workers?"

Be careful there - not all Federal employees receive "bloated salaries". I've been here 32 years and receive only $48K - that's for secretarial pay. And, there's a LOT of us that work darn hard, too. 60-70 hours/wk - not all of us are slack-offs.

I'm always suspicous of the 60-70 hours claim.

What does your last pay stub show for hours?

MOST federal employees in the Washington DC metro area do receive extremely bloated salaries and generous benefits that dwarf what the private sector gets. In the DC area $100K+ salaries are commonplace as GS 14 -15 grades abound.
