LOS ANGELES (CBS) —Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has asked for approval for a six-foot-wall around the Getty House, the mayor’s official residence in Windsor Square, according to city documents.
But at least one planning official was “caught off guard” by Villaraigosa’s request for increased security around the taxpayer-owned property.
The mayor’s office filed its request on Feb. 2 for a variance to city bylaws with plans to erect a security wall around the property at 605 S. Irving Blvd.
Officials say the wall’s design includes “embedded” security features that will save taxpayer money by cutting costs for security staffing.
Initially, the mayor proposed an eight-and-a-half-foot wall, which was quickly rejected by the Windsor Square Association.

I would think security would be pretty important. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue. I’m worried about the “cutting staff” part of the equation. There are always crazies out there.
Now, to be snarky, I’d point out that walls do serve a purpose. Let the mayor have his, and let us have ours on the border.
But I thought the people loved their El Patron?

All homes of the upper class in Mexico have substantial walls around them. Since he is importing Mexico into Mexifornia, he is just carrying on the tradition.

I think the Getty family gave this house to the city for this purpose. Mayor Riordan preferred to live in his house in Brentwood. The mayor’s big old house is in Hancock Park area one block north of Wilshire Blvd. There are a lot of beautiful old houses there, but if you go two or three miles away you are in MS-13 country. If I lived there I would have walls with razor wire on top.
Now the socialist liberal rat bastard elitists want to receive “special security protection” to protect them from the deranged mobs of illegal aliens, drug runners, human trafficers, and the general poor unwashed masses, that they self-righteously claim to speak for & protect from the big bad conservatives. He’s now worried about protection from the TEA Party or conservatives....He is terrified by not receiving enough protection from his deranged leftist hordes. Personally I would love to see him caught dead square in the middle of a liberal dimturd riot and see how he would feel about lefties after that.
Correction, the “illegals” live in East LA and the Valley. South Central is the Crypts and Bloods. As you move to the west its the Hollywood Leftist Loons and to find anymore sanity amongst the county head a bit Norteast to Glendale, La Canada, Pasadena and Arcadia. That is about all that is remaining of California sanity.
