Its a little perplexing looking at the White House today. There was a statement on the horrible earthquake in New Zealand, and certainly our hearts go out to all those affected by this horrible natural disaster. But nothing on the slaughter in Libya? The protests in many places in the Middle East affect regimes that have cooperated with the U.S. on issues from peace with Israel, fighting al Qaeda, hosting our military forces, or cooperating against Irans nuclear ambitions. Gaddafis Libya is different. For four decades, this tyrant has held power. Gaddafi was Osama before Osama hit the scene. He ordered the bombing of a disco in Germany to kill Americans. When he paid the price for that after President Reagan rightly ordered retaliation he directed his agents to blow up Pan Am Flight 103. They did, and more than 250 innocent people died. Gaddafi tried to come in from the cold in 2003 scared by the demonstration effect of Iraq. But we should have no illusions. Gaddafi is a brutal killer and Libya not to mention the world would be better off if he were out of power. Now is the time to speak out. Speak out for the long-suffering Libyan people. Speak out for the victims of Gaddafis terror. NATO and our allies should look at establishing a no-fly zone so Libyan air forces cannot continue slaughtering the Libyan people. We should not be afraid of freedom, especially when it comes to people suffering under a brutal enemy of America. Heres to freedom from Gaddafi for the people of Libya.

“why so silent Obama?”
I’ll tell you why.....Because we still have diplomats stuck there and hundreds of other Americans there that haven’t been able to get out. I’m not sure what the hangup is, but we can’t get our people out, and it would be stupid to speak too harshly and risk their not getting out at all.
You didn’t read a single thing Bill Shatner, she calling for freedom from Gaddafi, that world would be better off if he were out of power.
Am I mean-spirited? Because I don’t give 2 shits about Libyans and their “freedom”. They all seem like savages. And if they can’t keep things stable, control of their oil should be taken from them.
I don’t like the call for the US establishing no fly zones either. We do not need to insert ourselves in another mideast country at the moment.
Palin Derangement Syndrome: Obama is right as long as Sarah is wrong!
LOL, yes he would have.
My take on this is that the Muslim Brotherhood has been crazy like a fox. It instills unrest. The people on the street risk their lives, get butchered, and eventually topple the government.
Then the Muslim Brotherhood waltzes in (as Iran’s proxy), and sets up a new government, that is tied at the hip with Iran. During the process it’s core people are safe and secure.
I want folks to contemplate for a moment, that we are seeing the inception of a United States of Iran. Should we be congratulating anyone that is helping to facilitate that outcome?
Someone said I’m trashing someone for either doing or not doing something. No, I’m advocating precisely that. Don’t do anything right now. We have no way of knowing how this will turn out. What we do know, is how Egypt is turning out, and we have no reason at all to think Libya won’t go the same route.
Once again, is the planet going to be better off with ten Irans in that region, especially if our major oil suppliers are among them?
Do you want to be in the position of congratulating anyone for helping to bring that about? I honestly don’t.
I do have empathy for the people of Libya, as their leader was everything you mentioned he was. I just don’t believe their future is as bright as they think. They are going into another bondage. I’m not going to congratulate them on that. I will empathize with them.
Not true. the government of burma killed as many. And Jim Webb went and met with them and Obama gave them not a word of protest....
Has Obambi told Libya to keep their aircraft on the ground?
To bad we didn’t have a no-fly zone over Waco. A no tank zone would have been a good idea too.
Why would the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood ally itself with Shia Iran?
Believe me when I say this, there is no love lost there, in particular when you are dealing with conservative Sunni’s like the MB
You know what, no matter what we did the locals would see it as ‘the West’ interfering again. I don’t see a good way out of this frankly.
The ball is rolling, the Goober in Chief acted as if it was the greatest idea in the tool-box, in Egypt, which led everyone to believe this was great by him.
Death to the West, but Obama did give us a green light. And yet, they hate him too.
The prognosis is bleak. The Middle-East is on life support.
Libya’s “freedom”? They are “free” now?
She can’t be serious.
either way we secure American interests in the region and we can put pressure on Tunisia and Egypt while we do....
the war is coming whether we like it or not. We can either fight it now or wait until the enemy is fully armed and ready.....
>> “Don’t know about you, but I’m not sure what the outcome is going to be in the Middle East. I get the feeling that it won’t be good.” <<
.
What’s happening is not in the middle east, its the near east, and the difference is important.
The near east is Shemitic, and the middle east is caucasian (descendants of Japath). They are two different peoples and they hate eachother intensely.
All the action that is going on right now is the unintended consequences of Obama’s two year effort to destabilize Israel and Egypt.
Take your wiffleball and go home.
This sounds like Reagan or even Bush 41 or 43. Yet Obama cares so much about the cruely oppressed people of the world that he remains silent.
Obama has said previously that he will always side with islam and also with the unions. So, no surprise really.

Once again, President No. 45 has to school present President No. 44 in leadership.
