It’s not just a medical or public health issue, it’s also a sexual confidence issue. Ask any heterosexual (I’m sad I have to delineate) American woman which type of penis they prefer, and it is overwhelmingly circumcised.

There’s a stigma attached to uncircumcised penises in American culture that’s not as prevalent in Europe, Africa and Asia.

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association do not recommend routine circumcision.

What part of this do you not understand?

In this day and age, it is not a “hygene” thing...your pediatrician makes sure to advise you on how to lift your foreskin to assure proper cleaning when in the shower! At least my son’s pediatrician reviewed this with him on several yearly visits. It is a hygene thing for men in countries that have no running water and substandard sanitary conditions all around!
