When some fast talking nerd starts out his presentation with some scare statements, which others later try to convince me really weren’t meant at face value, I wave the whole thing off. Too much drama in my life, I don’t need any more thank you very much.
As for ACLU they are screaming liberals. Get a vetting from a conservative attorney who says everything was A-OK except for the opening scare statements, and maybe I’d take a second look.
And I wasn’t born a moron. If an occifer ever began barking up the “you might be guilty of some really big thing” tree, I’d tell him I can’t talk about that subject or anything else but my lawyer can, as soon as I can get him to show up. But I won’t be an asshole to a deputy who seems to be on a legitimate mission. Or keep it to myself if I see something suspicious in the neighborhood.
Some are liberals but their base is communist.
Too much drama to actually learn anything?
Nice that you were not born a moron. Few are, but many pick up habits in their life that will ensure that they don't actually learn much - and you seem to have availed yourself of those habits.
If you don't like the “nerd” in the first talk, watch the Police Officer confirmation in the follow up talk.
You might actually learn something, if you are not fundamentally opposed to learning something from someone unless you first like their personality and presentation style.
