ARVADA, Colo. -- An 11-year-old Arvada boy was arrested and hauled away in handcuffs for drawing stick figures in school, something his therapist told him to do...
The school was aware that the boy was in treatment, determined he was not a threat, notified his parents and sent him back to class. His mother, Jane was shocked when Arvada Police showed up at their home later that night.
She says she told her son to cooperate and tell the truth, but was horrified when they told her they were arresting him and then handcuffed him and hauled him away in a patrol car.

Except it wasn’t quite free, it cost them a lot of money acc to the mom.
But....Think of the “conditioning” our law enforcement officers are getting. Our law enforcement officers are being desensitized as well!
So?...Do you think that the police in this article would have any trouble firing on fellow Americans, herding them into cattle cars ( our new rapid transit system), or shoveling their bodies into ovens? Should we expect that they would defend the Constitution?
Yes! The very purpose and goal of government schooling has been the formation of a compliant working class. That was the goal from the very beginning of our modern compulsory schools since the 1850s to early 1900s. But...Now, I am afraid that our police are being conditioned to be inhuman robo cops, as well!
“The mom and kid got a free civics lesson.”
They got an unforgettable civics lesson. It was not free.
The cops weren’t coming to you to ask about something you may or may not have done.
Hey! This was WWII!
My daughter went out the door on her way to work one morning to find several officers standing inside her back gate...they were there to serve a felony warrant on her next door neighbor and were inside her gate to watch to see when the neighbor left his house so they could get him outside. I was surprised they didn’t tell her ahead of time but maybe they didn’t get a chance before she went outside. She did say nothing like that to really wake you up in the morning.
sitting here laughing!
Hoo boy. (Or girl)
Drug dealing, is my guess.
At least it wasn’t a SWAT team descending on the neighbors.
I had an inquisitive officer come one other time and he kept asking am I OK? am I sure I’m OK? When I insisted yes several times, finally he said that the 911 operator had gotten a 911 call from my phone number and all the operator had heard was some vague noises. I said I wasn’t aware of anything wrong but I’d be glad to check my telephone for problems, and the officer went his way. Later it dawned on me that my cat, who had knocked that phone off the hook several times before, had probably managed to step on the emergency dial button as well.
I just don’t seem to attract a lot of attention from police, and I say that as an avowedly lousy driver. Two tickets in thirty years, and one was for “excessive smoke” (I’ll have to share that story some time). Maybe they think I’m a cop or detective too. A shaved head tends to do that... the Kojak look.
They changed their minds.
“Two tickets in thirty years, and one was for excessive smoke (Ill have to share that story some time).”
Must have been an “up in smoke” kind of moment! LOL!
I got paddled good and hard for singing that on the playground in about 1974. But not arrested. This country is going insane.
“LOL, I grew up in the 40s, if they arrested every kid that drew stick figures with guns, theyd have to build more jails than Levittown houses.”
Boys were allowed to be boys and men were allowed to be men back then. Our Socialized country criminalizes masculine behavior now.
Please re-read my post. You didn't comprehend it.
LOL.......you do know that parents dare not paddle their children in this insane world.

Jingle Bells, shotgun shells, Santa Claus is dead.
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, shot him in the head.
Barbie Doll, Barbie Doll, tried to save his life.
GI Joe, GI Joe, stabbed her with his knife.
Don't recall getting hauled away in handcuffs any of the dozens of times I sang those, either. And the number of guns, bombs, missiles, fighter jets, battleships and tanks I drew as a boy would fill a book.

Aw what the heck.
It was as a still silly fellow in my late teens. The old family car, which I had inherited as my personal vehicle while going to college (it was a 1968 Buick Skylark V8) had developed an engine knocking problem. One of the assistant professors of engineering that I liked to shoot the bull with suggested it might be a problem with carbon in the cylinder head, and recommended a product called Carbout. Consisting of chlorinated hydrocarbons (prolly banned now) it was supposed to be poured into the carburetor until the engine suffocated, then the engine allowed to sit a few minutes. So I did just that, at about 1 dark 30 in the morning, finally heading out onto a nearby 55 mph stretch of road to “clear out the carbon.” With grey smoke billowing for half a mile behind. I thought nobody would be out there then. Well that’s when the blue bubblegum machine appeared behind. Talked with an attorney who was a friend of my dad’s and he suggested speaking with the prosecutor at the traffic court. I did that, explained what had caused the smoke, and they canceled the ticket. Probably laughed at this silly redneck boy as I left.
Parents, hell, I was paddled by the teacher, and then AGAIN by my parents.
finally heading out onto a nearby 55 mph stretch of road to clear out the carbon.
And a beer was always necessary to keep the nerves steady. ;)
That almost sounds like the time when my ‘85 Chevy Chevette and later my ‘77 four door Cutlass Olds both had leaky modulator valves. The white smoke I could generate made me feel like James Bond!
