Fwiw, a lot of posters know Trump isn't as advertised in his CPAC speech. In the article, he gives reasons based on Trump's donations why he likely isn't all that conservative. A decent, short read for those who might want to say "you're fired" early to the Donald.

I don’t care whether he is conservative or not, nominating him for president would be evidence of just how low and “celebritized” our politics have become. Another step on the road to decline. Italy had a porn star in its parliament. That would be next in the US.

Conservative?

Hell, no. Not even close. I will not vote for a bullying SOB like Trump.

Trump is not conservative, but his donations don’t mean anything on that score. Billionaire businessmen, especially a real estate developer like Trump, donate to incumbents and likely incumbents (sometimes both candidates) for access and influence, not ideology.

That could be a valid point, but the article does mention how Soros and other lib businessmen don't do that.

We have a winner. It’s all Donald all the time. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I’m not a Trump supporter, but he is a smart man. I wouldn’t mind hearing him out. He has some good ideas, such as charging other countries protection money and playing hardball with OPEC (saw an interview with him recently). While I doubt I would support his nomination, maybe some of these ideas could get legs on the national stage. There is a place for him in the debate.

There is nobody in the potential field who can make me appreciate the overwhelming gravitas, the bred-in-the-bone philosophical depth, the encyclopedic theoretical grounding, of Sarah Palin, nearly as well as Donald Trump can.
