Japan to dig site linked to WWII human experiments

TOKYO – Japan is excavating the site of a former medical school that may reveal grisly secrets from World War II.

The investigation begins Monday afternoon at the former school linked to Unit 731, a germ and biological warfare outfit during the war. Shadowy experiments conducted by the unit on war prisoners have never been officially acknowledged by the government but have been documented by historians and participants.

It is the first government probe of the Tokyo site, and follows a former nurse's revelation that she helped bury body parts there as American forces began occupying the capital at the end of the war.

If it’s true, yet another reason why we should not regret using atomic weapons to end WWII.

There was never any question. Japan was hellbent on their own being sacrificed.

Yep. And regardless of what resistance they mounted to an invasion of the home islands, we would have defeated them anyway, no question about it.

By a large margin, MOST of the MILLIONS of lives that were saved by nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki were JAPANESE lives.

On May 5, 1945, an American B-29 bomber was knocked down over southern Japan. Eight American airmen prisoners were made available for medical experiments at Kyushu Imperial University. The eight were dissected organ by organ while they were still alive.

The Japanese deserved exactly what they got from the Enola Gay and Bock's Car.

IIRC, there are still active strains of Cholera in China that have origins with Unit 731.

This I understand. MacArthur and Nimitz would have destroyed that country.

Most of the Japanese I know (ranging in age from thirty to seventy) understand it too. Although they don’t like to admit it, they will to someone they know well enough.

I know folks even older than me that are products of political upheaval, if you will. One of the guys actually steered his 60 ft. boat while giving the Captain a rest as they fled from Vietnam. I see him daily. His son is a Captain flying transports for the USAF. We live in a world where the liberals believe everything is new. The smart ones see it go round and round.

Not that they didn’t deserve it... But Japan was already defeated before the two A bombs. There should have been a way to save them (the two bombs) for Mecca and Medina...

This “excavation” is just a little kabuki dance of some sort. Suuuuure. They JUST discovered this crazy old nurse.

The reason that they have ALLOWED this to become a news story is unclear, but one thing is... The Japanese government will NEVER admit, officially, to ever committing an atrocity with Unit 731 - beyond whatever they have already said.

They will say either that they just didn’t find anything or that the bones found were in “Too bad condition” to determine anything.

Meanwhile... crazy old Mama San nurse will have been found to have chocked to death on some noodles over at the retirement home for crazy old nurses.

Just my two cents.

“If it’s true, yet another reason why we should not regret using atomic weapons to end WWII”
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

No “reasons” were ever needed in the first place. They started it... we ended it.. and that’s that. Regrets are for
Liberals.

As far as I have read Paul Tibbets had none and I am damn sure Curtis “bombs away” LeMay and Harry Truman had none
too.

I find it ironic and strange that for all their belief in the Bushido warrior code crap.. that the Japanese could
have even found a reason to complain about the A-bomb being
used on them.

I thought that Bushido warriors were supposed to accept defeat like REAL Samurai and just die gritting his teeth.

Didn’t they place that code on their whole population as a condition of total war and defeating the US devils???

I like your thinking, but not to worry. We had (and still have) the resources to do both.
