“I saw one of the legislators on the lam earlier today claiming that the students missing school are actually learning how democracy works.”

Unreal. This is how the left thinks. Specifically, if I can fool young minds into thinking anarchy is actually democracy, I have won!

The collective bargaining is only on their benefits not their wages. DUH this is all for show folks.

This is a concession? Seems to me that unless they can convince the senate Dums to join the witness protection plan, they have no choice but to take the benefit cuts.

And as an added bonus, they will lose on the collective bargaining front as well.

And about danged time too!

All they have to do is allow people with college degrees in given subjects to teach those subjects ... without having to jump through all the teacher certification hoops. It’s pretty ridiculous that a guy with a PhD in chemistry cant teach in the public schools.

It is absurd that somebody qualified to teach college freshmen is alleged to be unqualified to teach high school seniors.

It should be the case that teaching experience in community college qualifies as teaching experience for high-school, at least.

I would also like military NCOs and officers (who spend much of their time teaching complicated tasks and concepts to 18 year old enlisted men) be deemed qualified to teach as well.

Agreed! After Reagan got through with PATCO, he should have busted a few others, including SEIU.

I know this isn't a scientific poll, but look how the left leaning CNN readers feel. Mainstream America is pissed, and is sick and tired of unions holding this nation hostage....

Quick vote

What is your general view of labor unions?

We don't have to compromise. YOU LOST.

If we give in, get ready for more Madison riots. :(

This is your fifth post of the same thing on different threads. What is your problem? This is a form of trolling.

Give it a break. Rape is quite a different thing... and the woman does not need reminding!

Between LA and NYC alone, they’re looking at laying off nearly 10k teachers.

It’s a buyer’s market for WI where it comes to teachers.

I'm not trying to be "king" of anything. I was offended by your churlish post. Rape is not the same as union theft!

Get a life!

The point of the whole exercise is to give the Power back to people on the local Level to Vote for The employees of the taxpayers and not to be dictated to by the servants

“Many teachers in WI pay $1100 annually in union dues. But won’t contribute to their own pension or pay 6 percent more in HC premiums?”

The problem isn’t the union members as much as the union leaders and professional politicians that are co-dependent on each other and on the public teat. The problem isn’t just the union leaders but the big bankers (notice how they’re all over the place in bammy’s cabinet?) that enslave all of us in the debt based money prison.

It’s past time for all states to imitate North Dakota and initiate State Banks, and also to do away with the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 and replace the Fed debt based money slavery system with Sovereign Dollars accountable to the full faith of a US Government accountable to the people.
