February 18, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In a historic vote Friday afternoon, the US House voted to strike all federal funding for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Every year the abortion giant receives hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer funding.
The congressional body voted 240-185 in favor of the amendment, introduced by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), to the 2011 Federal Spending Bill.
Immediately after the vote Rep. Pence released a statement saying: This afternoons vote is a victory for taxpayers and a victory for life. By banning federal funding to Planned Parenthood, Congress has taken a stand for millions of Americans who believe their tax dollars should not be used to subsidize the largest abortion provider in America.

This is the first real step toward overturning Roe v. Wade that I can remember the Republicans EVER taking. (Even though it’s been an official Republican party-plank since the mid `80s.)
And someone, somewhere, is taking on the teacher unions, for the first time in my 50 years. This is an historic day.
I'm lovin' it.
>I’m lovin’ it.
*nod* — Abortion is a horrible thing; someone around here has the tagline: “Abortion is the human sacrifice to the god of convenience.”
As for the unions, I have a plan that would likely make their heads explode along with all the “open borders” types in the various governments; Freepmail me if you want the details on it.
Sounds close to party lines.
This is terrific news. Thank you Mike Pence and God bless you. I just wish you’d run for president.
Glenn Beck had Lila Rose on today. It was a great show.
This is nice and all, but what about this:
Why is it that almost 100 Republicans, including majority leader Cantor voted against a measly $22 billion in additional cuts? I am outraged!! These people have obviously learned NOTHING from last November’s elections.
We need to eventually cut like $1 trillion from the yearly budget just to get it in balance and take us off the path to bankruptcy.
Why would they do this? The only thing I can figure is all the news is focused on either Wisconsin or the big headline of defunding Obamacare and Planned Parenthood. But this will not slip by unnoticed. There’s a day of reckoning coming, and if these RINO Republicans don’t get on the fiscal sanity train quick, they’re gonna get run over by it!
.the only thing 0bambi's investments will get us is a bullet train to bankruptcy.
RINOS hop aboard...a wild ride over the cliff.
But we're one step closer, and for most people, that's a good thing.
Knowingly helping to procure an abortion is a mortal sin. Obama is evidently guilty of that. That priest should inform himself better about candidates, so good for you for rebuking him.
respectfully,
disagree.
“And, the voter who votes for the politician who makes it legal for that doctor to kill that baby, likewise, commits murder.”
everyone who voted for any legislator who legalized abortion is a murderer?
NOT
He should be our next VICE PRESIDENT — or higher
Brilliant pro-life insights in your long piece about Sanger. But remember, paragraphs are your friends. :-)
Thank You very much, i think that one is most powerful...
And from Mother Jones!
This should seriously be a no brainer, even for pro-abortion people. Planned Parenthood is a for-profit business, and it makes no sense at all to be giving them government money.
You may disagree, but in legal terms it can be described as accessory either before or after the fact.
ohh sorry about no paragraphs...I’ll catch it next time :)
Thanks! Just sent Mr. Pence a thank you email. I hope he and the others remain encouraged to follow what they know is right and that his example becomes contagious.
