By now, you've probably heard about the kerfuffle in Wisconsin, where demonstrators have been clogging the state Capitol to denounce a bill, pushed by Gov. Scott Walker, that would strip most government workers of nearly all their collective bargaining rights. Schools have closed as teachers skip work to protest. Students have been sleeping in the Capitol rotunda for the last two nights. And there are unconfirmed reports that Senate Democrats may have skipped town to avoid a vote on the controversial measure tonight.

This is a LIE continuously spread by the uninformed, the agenda-driven, and certain media. The truth is, it eliminates benefits from collective bargaining and retains the right to negotiate salaries. From the AP, just yesterday.....
UPDATED Thursday, February 17, 2011 --- 9:25 a.m.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Most of the demonstrators Thursday gathered in front of the Senate chambers where lawmakers will take up Republican Gov. Scott Walker's bill to end collective bargaining, except on issues of salary, for most public employees.
“Kerfuffle” is a ridiculous understatement of the greed and piggishness that is being displayed by the “teachers” and the unions
because if the Wisconsin GOP goes the least bit wobbly on this we really ARE going to find ourselves living in France

“Unconfirmed reports” that Senate Democrats “may have” skipped town to avoid a vote?
Give. me. a. break.
The pro-union comments on the Yahoo site show a total ignorance of what the Bill says/does. It shows that someone is intentionally misleading them.
One of the things that was so great about the Tea PArty was that the demonstrators could actually cite sections of the Bills they were against. These union thugs haven’t even bothered to read theirs.

It’s not a lie. The bill removes all bargaining rights; pension, health care, working conditions, dress codes, seniority, sick days, raises, etc. Leaving only the right to bargain for base wages. Raises are capped at the cost of living unless there is a referendum approved by voters.
This is one of the best things about this bill. I’m all for it!
Unconfirmed? Who are these jerks writing for Yahoo? The Democrats confessed to this!
I think the Republicans should double down on the Democrats.
Wisconsin is currently a forced unionization State.
How about the Republicans give those Democrat legislator senators an ultimatum? Return to the State to vote on union reform, or we will make Wisconsin a Right To Work State!
Right now the unions are throwing a tantrum over a reasonable deal. They need to have a fire lit under them. Behave or employers all over the State are going to bust you, because they, too, are sick of your nonsense and greed.
Why 'most government workers'? Why not all of them? Why take the protections from some unionized workers and leave them with others? I understand the need for the bill and have no problems with it other than the fact that it should cover every unionized government worker in the state - bureaucrat, teacher, police officer, firefighter, prison guard, road worker, all of them.

As the week has progressed, Wisconsin and the Nation have watched schools across Wisconsin close due to teachers participating in a sick out, the unions busing people in from other states to inflate their rally numbers in Madison and legislators fleeing the state to avoid the vote on the budget repair bill.
Its time the voices of the Wisconsin people are heard.
Weve had thousands of people show up for tea party events to rally to take our state back - but our work isnt done. Lets have our voices heard once again and show our state legislators that we support this bill. We need concerned Wisconsin citizens to show up at noon on Saturday, February 19th to voice our support for Gov. Walker and our conservative legislators! Tell your friendslets set a turn out record!
I hope there is a massive turnout and I wish I could be there.
