The gay conservative group GOProud doesnt regret inviting real-estate mogul and possible 2012 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to speak at a conservative conference last week, even though he donated $50,000 to former White House Chief of Staff and Democratic Chicago mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel.
We have absolutely no regrets in inviting and promoting Mr. Trump at CPAC, GOProud Chairman Christopher Barron told The Daily Caller. Why in the world would we? Mr. Trump stole the show on Thursday, brought new energy and enthusiasm to the conference and delivered a hell of a speech.
Trump was a last-minute surprise addition to the list of speakers at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where presidential hopefuls traditionally test the campaign waters in front of thousands of activists. Barron said at the time that he would love to see Mr. Trump run and Trump has said that he is absolutely thinking about it.
Trumps speech at the conference caused a ruckus among some younger members of the crowd when he said that Texas Rep. Ron Paul had zero chance of ever being elected president.
Barron added that Trumps choice could be justified, given the alternative in the race.
Would it have been better if he gave $50,000 to Carol Moseley-Braun? he said, referring to Rahms arguably more liberal opponent.
so it was they who asked him to speak
Their not even conservative andnow they are asking people to speak at a conservative convention.
libertarians, homosexuals, Trump, what’s next organising for america
I wonder if this guy realizes that this week, Trump said that marriage should only be recognized if it's between a man and a woman.
Sounds like they want their cake and eat it too.
On a few issues, yep. On most, he's personal responsibility straight across the board, and even on some of the most liberal issues he's fond of, he's been clear in the past that a lot of it isn't part of the government's business in the first place.
Would I prefer he'd be more conservative on some social issues? Absolutely. Is it a deal breaker for me? No. Unlike Huckabee, McCain, and Romney, he's not interested in pushing those social viewpoints on others through the power of government. And that counts for an awful lot in my book.
Trump is a democrat not a republican, he supported Obama’s run in 08 and he donated money to Rahm’s bid in Ill.

GOProud invited Trump to CPAC despite the fact that Trump isn't Conservative. Neither is GOProud. And this article shows that.
I’d never vote for Trump. Ever.
ghe’s tld CNN is more of a Dem
He has given mor emoney to the left
screw that crap, having him as a phony republican is why the GOP is all screwed up along with the idiots which votes these phony clowns in
All
It is time for the libertarians, homo’s etc to find their own convention and stop running on our patforms and using our sites, conventions to push their sick social agenda
“Unlike Huckabee, McCain, and Romney, he’s not interested in pushing those social viewpoints on others through the power of government. And that counts for an awful lot in my book.”
I strongly second that!
out of curiousity as you’re from MA where RINos’ hail from.
and what you agreed with
Do you not have a problem with the homo agenda and would you vote for Trump who has said he’s a Dem, he has given mroe to Dems and wanted Clinton back in office?
Trump gave money to Rahm’s campaign because the alternative candidates would be a disaster, and Trump has business interests in Chicago, including Chicago’s version of Trump Tower. He wants to have some influence and voice in what happens with the business climate in the city of Chicago. He has vested financial and real estate interests in Chicago and he wants to protect them politically, as best he can. He is a shrewd and practical businessman. If Carole Mostly Fraud or Gary Chico got into office, it could be very detrimental to doing businesss in Chicago. Rahm will be much more practical and is the least of three evils by far.
This is almost exactly what happened to the forerunner homosexual group to GOProud, “Log Cabin”. An investigation uncovered that a huge portion of their funding was coming form a super rich homosexual Democrat Tim Gill. I’m not surprised at all that this GOProud is looking like the same kind of front group.
correct.
this goproud was founded right after the log cabins were busted for being Dems and funded by Dems.
their whole mission was to infiltrate the right and CPAC.
Niow this homo groups invites others who are not conservatives but are attention media seeking, Dem contributer as Trump is
Personally, I think homosexuality is morally wrong, disgusting and unhealthy. But, if folks want to burn in Hell, that's their business.
Would I vote for Donald Trump? If him or Obama are my only two choices, yes. Is he my first, second or 10th choice? No, but I'd take Trump over Romney, Huckabee or the other 2008 retreads.
Trump would represent the dog with less fleas, which is hardly a good thing to be.
I believe that the government should not be in the business of social engineering of any kind
so you have no problem with a father marrying his daughter at aged 15?
No problem wiht a crack house right next to a school?
A man marrying and having sex with animals?
I could go on but I think you get my point but I am interested in your answers.
People need to govern themselves by having a moral compass and knowing right from wrong. The problem is that the government (IMO) has blurred the lines and we end up with serious problems (see the “War on Poverty”).
Passing more and more laws isn't the answer. People having common sense, self control and knowing good from bad would go a long way to curing many of the problems we have today. Those are things taught by family and friends, not by bureaucrats of one ilk or another.
Trump has said in interviews with CNN that he identifies more with Democrats than Republicans; that the party handles the economy better than Republicans; that President George W. Bush was "probably the worst president in the history of the United States"; and suggested that Bush should have been impeached for what Trump called "lies" over a "horrendous mistake": the Iraq war.
In 1999, while flirting with running for president under Ross Perot's Reform Party, Trump told the New York Daily News that he supported abortion rights and universal health care.
snip
Now he says he's very Conservative. In 2004 he said "Well, you'd be shocked if I said that in many cases I probably identify more as a Democrat," Trump said. "And it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans.
That's a big fat NO MORE RINOS.
Wow, Trump fully exposed at OpenSecrets. This is the slime that GOProud is pushing: http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2011/02/donald-trumps-donations-to-democrats.html
