Gov. Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania said Tuesday that several state workers had been fired and the states abortion clinics would be subjected to stricter oversight as a result of an investigation into a Philadelphia clinic where, according to the district attorney, a woman and seven newborn babies were killed in deplorable conditions.
Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 69, who ran the clinic, the Womens Medical Society, was indicted by a grand jury last month on eight counts of murder. The grand jury report found that babies were born alive in the clinic but were killed when their spinal cords cut with scissors by clinic staff members. At least two women died during abortion procedures.
This doesnt even rise to the level of government run amok, Governor Corbett said in a statement. It was government not running at all. To call this unacceptable doesnt say enough. Its despicable.
Governor Corbett ordered the states abortion clinics to be inspected at least once a year and said clinics that fail to meet basic state health standards would be closed, at least temporarily.
Pennsylvania abortion clinics will also have unannounced inspections, including during evenings and weekends. The results will be posted online.

Sounds like the Slimes really didn’t want to report on this.
Ping!
This is blasphemy to the left, how dare you want to hold their shrines to the standards of medical clinics!
Go Tom! Would be even better if we could outlaw abortions altogether. But this is ok too.
Lets all hope the state can improve the condition of the murder site. These are supposed to be professional kills.
What a paradoxical regulatory job?! Do a better job killing babies? Make sure they hire SEIU janitors to keep the place clean?
Abortions are demonic sacrifices.
Actually, abortion is the untouchable sacrament of the left.
A $25 per fetus tax, with a reduced rate for poor and minorities would do the trick. Kinda like Baggage fees when you fly, only in reverse.
As earlier reports have noted, it was Republican Governor Tom Ridge, a pro-abort, who ordered that inspections of abortion clinics should cease. And his Democrat successors followed the same policy. And this is pretty common in other states, as well.
I’m glad to hear that people were fired. Also, that clinics will now face yearly inspections.
They should also face occasional unscheduled surprise inspections. But I suppose that’s too much to hope for.
Did they get severance? New jobs waitin’?
This is going to cost the PA abortion clinic’s big. First off I’ve read the reuse things they shouldn’t, throw away medical instruments. Then there is always a lot of blood when there is an abortion. Soooooo, lot’s more clean up.
Government does a fine job overseeing the slaughter of chickens. They should at a minimum include abortion clinics in the job description of slaughter house inspectors.
Good suggestion, did you say $25 hundred per fetus tax?
They will fight this.
They refuse to obey laws on parental notification and statutory rape reporting, they will fight this too.
Don’t live anywhere near this state so don’t understand why are they even allowed to be open.
ping
Just what were they doing?
For the stubborn at heart, just make the fetus tax $25 if aborted and $2,500 if carried full term under Obammacare.
If you can't come up with the $2,500, they'll place you and your fetus into the $25 plan.
