WASHINGTON — Donald Trump attempted a dramatic boardroom takeover at this weekend’s high profile conclave of conservative activists, pulling the chair out from under Mitt Romney and setting the tone before a packed house at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
“I want to stop our nation from being the whipping post for the rest of the world,” Trump said at the unofficial kickoff of the 2012 Republican presidential sweepstakes.
For Romney, it was if the New York real estate mogul was sending him a message made famous by his hit TV show, “The Apprentice” — You’re fired!
And many in the crowd of 11,000 appeared to respond to Trump’s message, yelling, “You’re hired!”
Trump took on everybody, including the Chinese for “manipulating their currency” as he appeared to hit all the right notes at the annual gathering.

What a dick...like everyone’s going to forget Romney/ObamaCare.
Is Trump serious? Or is just playing around with politics to drum up publicity?
Mitt’s had his day, like McCain. I ignore the straw pool results since this is a pay-for-play group. However, the speeches, etc give a good indicator as to which way they’re trending.
These kind of reports make me equate the republican nominating process with American idol.
I suppose that is the intention of the reporter.
I don’t know but, Channel 9 out of NH (WMUR) is having a 1 hour special tonight about the potential GOP candidates and I read DT gets a lot of the airtime. FWIW.

Aside from malaprops(or maybe because of them!) I’d love him to run: he’d be a lot of fun in a very unfunny world.
So Mitt (RINO) was put down by a over bloated ego that is a serial adulterer. Who cares?
Yeah we really should concentrate on a dignified nomination process.

The Push will be for Bush. Jeb Bush. The MSM is going to make mincemeat out of our Republican whusses over any kind of cut. I can see the sob stories now.
Perhaps one or two other GOP hopefuls will notice Trump is getting huge traction with his “America First” message.

When these clowns (trump, romney, huckabee, that guy that dresses in drag from new york,...) get finished with their popularity show, the likes of dole is what the republicans will end up with
I think Trump showed incredible stupidity by directly insulting Paul suppporters. If he’s that much of a non inclusive hothead already imagine all the other mistakes he’d make!
this weekend the MSM kept mentioning Dole. I think they MSM is pushing for our next Dole to reeelect Jimmy Obama Carter.
Unfortunately we’re in agreement about that.
I’ll say this, I’d take Trump over Romney or the Jeb.
Ron Paul has a lot of crazy supporters.
I totally agree, but why deliberately tell someone “don’t vote for me”? What’s to be gained?
