Okay gang, it looks like we had a open revolt of millions in Egypt today and now that Mubarak is gone(possibly), now what?
We all know that Egypt(namely Mubarak)for good or bad was a bulwark against the a radical takeover of Egypt and thus the Suez Canal as well as his maintaining of a peace between his nation and Israel.
Now the United State must look forward to a uncertain future for Egypt as well the region as a whole. Will the military and their Mubarak appointed VP survive until new elections or will the Muslim Brotherhood convince the same young people that he is more of the same and that radical Islam is the path to true freedom in their opinion?
Just heard on WMAl's Chris Plant show, while he was talking to Brigit Gabrielle at CPAC. She received a call or text msg [not confirmed yet]that Saudi King Abdullah died last night of heart attack. News was not released earlier because of crisis in Egypt. No word of his successor.
True democracy is three wolves and a sheep deciding what is for lunch.
Why would you be concerned about the Muslim Brotherhood? Just yesterday 0bama's intelligence chief (Clapper) said they were a moderate, secular group...kinda like the Knights of Columbus. Nothing to worry abouit with those guys involved. sarc/
If it is accurate that 85% of Egyptians favor imposition of Sharia, I guess a free and fair election will give it to them?
And the civilized world is supposed to celebrate that?
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
If true, this is very unsettling news.
The military has run Egypt for 60 years. What makes you think they’ll give it up now?
G-d help the Copts. And the Iraqi Chaldeans and Assyrians. And the Melkites in Lebanon.
A bad time to be Christian in the Middle East just became a lot worse IMO.
That’s one of the many reasons I’m not a democrat.

This is well said.
I think the military will keep things in check for now, but over the next 2-5 years the issue will be how to create a govt that will keep church and state separate. If they fail the radicals will seize control.
So, the Muslim Brotherhood/Obama-engineered coup d’etat has succeeded.
What a shameful day for America.
I’m sure other allies are scared spitless.
Or, maybe they should be referred to henceforth as “former allies.”
Maybe now we’re allied with Iran and Syria. Part of the new, much more potent Axis of Evil.
Who knows what will happen in the next months and year but whatever happens, the Obama Administration and MSM cheerleaders will be responsible for it.
B.S. That’s being going around the crank sites for several days.
There were conflicting reports all over the net yesterday on this:
Google Search: King Abdullah Died
Now Egypt becomes a Sharia Theocracy while we stand idly by.
I don’t think the MB is in power are they? I heard power was shifted to the military.
Obama, The Manchurian Candidate President, wasn't standing idly by.
He followed the orders and script of his behind the scene handlers to bring this overthrow about.
That rumor was all over the internet yesterday. Interesting that it’s still going around...wonder if it’s actually true..
I think the news media are deluded.
I don’t think Mubarak has stepped down. I think he is a sick old man who has temporarily stepped back and delegated power to his VP—and of course to the Supreme Military Council, who run things behind the scenes but now will step forward and act.
Although it is based on anonymous information, I think this Israeli take on it, based on information from the Egyptian Attache in Israel, is the likeliest scenario.
That is, Mubarak will stay in office until the election, the Military will come to the front, they will order the protestors to disperse, and they will start shooting them if they refuse. Mubarak will escape the blame for that since he has delegated his authority in this emergency.

As the speaker concludes in that article, now it’s time for the Egyptian army to “flush the toilet.”
