From the BBC:

-A huge crowd has gathered in Cairo's Tahrir Square for Friday prayers and a mass demonstration against Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak.

-Mr Mubarak defied protesters on Thursday, vowing to hold on to power until presidential elections in September.

-His speech drew a strong response from US President Barack Obama, who said Egypt needed a "clear and unequivocal" transition of power.

I am for closing our borders. Totally. We do not need it. No international trade.

CNN = Creating New News in the Egypt crisis.

If the protests go violent today it will be because the MSM created the expectation out of thin air that Mubarak would be leaving.

Former Israeli Defense Minister Ben Eliezer spoke to Mubarak yesterday and when a reporter asked whether Mubarak would be leaving, he said NO Way.

Also I think Mubarak played Obama. He kept delaying the announcement. i believe he was waiting for the US to trip over themselves. Sure enough Panetta predicted Mubarak was leaving, and Obama made his little speech. And then Mubarak spoke and told them he was not going to be ordered around by “foreigners.”

I just got in and turned on Fox News. Donald is on now explaining. He said A Ron Paul supporter shouted rudely during his speech, so that is why he said Paul had no chance of winning or beating Obama but Trump said he could and would announce in June.

Let’s say Trump was elected and dissed the U.N. and cut off all foreign aid and BS. What would the congress and senate do? In other words many get seduced and wined and dined once they get to DC. The Donald is independently wealthy so he may just be able to do it. I think he would pick a good VP and cabinet. Energy independence and all steel mills and factories MADE IN AMERICA again. IT MAY WORK....The NWO Soro’s/ Obama/ Clinton’s are clearly seeing now that we CAN’T UNIFY and hold hands in global communism. So they can go play else where while we get America back.

I am all in. I am sick of the NWO and WTO. We should pull out and seal our borders. We could have 100% employment in no time. We have everything we need in the USA. Screw a bunch of Globalist Crooks and Communists. One thing Trump is not...a Communist.

Do people knock off work and go to mosque for all five of the prayers every day, or just Friday when I guess they’re not working anyway? Is the mid-day prayer the ‘main’ service and everybody shows up for that, and then prays quietly alone the other four times? What’s the daily v. Friday routine?

What's Obama? 47? Up against Hosni Mubarak, 82, with war experience, has dealt with something like 5 US Presidents, and who still plays three hours of racketball a day and is still sharp as a nail?

A community organizer who needs a teleprompter versus a (granted authoritarian), well seasoned, savvy man skilled at these subtle chess games?

No brainer.

Who do you think would get rolled?!

Obama has been internationally HUMILIATED and OUTSMARTED. (Thats not saying much though, pretty easy to do).

Shep Smith is whining quite mightily about the peaceful protesters and that horrible Mubarak—

OReilly too....it’s getting embarassing.

EXACTLY! Faux News is becoming Barry's lap dog licking his vomit (totalitarian talking points).

RESIGN Barack Obama.

Sarkozy is catching on too- check it out!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20110210/wl_afp/francepoliticsimmigrationsociety_20110210231042

PARIS (AFP) – French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared Thursday that multiculturalism had failed, joining a growing number of world leaders or ex-leaders who have condemned it.

“My answer is clearly yes, it is a failure,” he said in a television interview when asked about the policy which advocates that host societies welcome and foster distinct cultural and religious immigrant groups.

“If you come to France, you accept to melt into a single community, which is the national community, and if you do not want to accept that, you cannot be welcome in France,” the right-wing president said.

We have been too concerned about the identity of the person who was arriving and not enough about the identity of the country that was receiving him,” Sarkozy said in the TFI channel show.

7-10 thousand is not a “huge” crowd as the BBC has reported.

Be interesting to see how the BBC reported the 9/12 event. There were hundreds of thousands that day.

The devout tend to stop for the few minutes of prayer call (five times a day - about three of those during the standard workday) during the week, unroll their prayer mat and do all that weird bowing and scraping and then just go back to business as usual. I've actually seen that a couple of times (and resisted the urge to giggle.)

Friday is like Sunday in the US. A lot of businesses and shops are closed and the Friday midday prayer is the one most heavily attended during the week and the longest one. The start times vary depending on the position of the sun or moon...or something like that. :) Friday and Saturday is the weekend here. It's Thursday and Friday in Kuwait and some other countries.

Iraq isn't as fanatic as some of the other countries. Oh, there are some very fundamentalist pockets, but none of the Iraqis I know ever go to the mosques and a lot of them scoff at the pilgrimages to Mecca or other shrines.

Faux News is becoming Barry's lap dog licking his vomit (totalitarian talking points).

Not everyone on Fox. Gingrich compares Obama handling of Egypt to Carter handling of Iran

Talking about the increasingly volatile developments in Egypt last night, Newt Gingrich communicated what he thought so far of the Obama Administration’s handling of the crisis. And he had only disparagements to hand out in his description of Obama and company’s series of blunders."..........

......." Appearing on Sean Hannity’s show last night, Gingrich was brought on to analyze, first, the embarrassing comments of the so-called Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper. "..........
