Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) said Wednesday evening she has no objection to the participation of gay Republicans at this weekend's gathering of conservatives in Washington.
Palin said she didn't see anything wrong with the participation of GOProud, a group of gay Republicans, at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which runs Thursday through Saturday.
"I don't have a problem with different, diverse groups that are involved in political discourse, and having a convention to talk about what the answers are to their problems that face America," Palin said Wednesday on Fox News when asked about GOProud.
Palin isn't participating in the conference, and she's declined previous invitations, despite CPAC's role as a cattle call for possible Republican presidential candidates.
But other prominent conservatives have said they're skipping the conference. The conservative Heritage Foundation and other socially conservative groups withdrew due to the inclusion of GOProud. And with those groups out, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) followed suit. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) also declined participation, though it's unclear if that decision is linked to GOProud.
Aside from DeMint, though, the other Republicans mulling a run for president are slated to speak or participate at the conference, hoping in part to boost their standing in the closely watched straw poll of attendees.
Palin suggested that conservatives had more important issues to worry about than which groups were attending the conference.
"People are losing their jobs; they're losing homes. We're still engaged in a war," she said. "There are so many life-changing, life-and-death issues out there in front of us. You know, we'd better be concentrating on what is really important here and not going kind of tit-for-tat as people are positioning themselves for 2012."

Their own guilt condemns them. If everybody stood up and told them they were ok they’d still be filled with self-loathing and hatred for others.
murder, rape and robbery while immoral are also crimes done against fellow citizens. the government has a responsibility to protect citizens from each other to ensure the society does not devolve into anarchy. It is the societies responsibility not the governments to drive home the fact that these acts are immoral.
You're a libertarian, ain't ya.
You're a libertarian, ain't ya.
Nope believe government is a necessary evil.
You can't, can you.
It kept their filthy sex parades off the streets. Now at parades they prance around mostly naked and openly have sex. In front of children.
Anti-sodomy laws did NOT force them be become "normal". It made them keep their filth in their own homes.
I thought the diehard Palin ONLY no matter what even if she doesn’t run Palinista’s were loyal to her because she was so socially conservative? I am not cheerleading for anyone yet; we have time and I like Palin. But why was she not at CPAC? CPAC came right out the gate and embraced the tea party fully.
CPAC also embraces Muslims and homosexuals. Until they clean it up it’s useless.
they dance naked in the street because the GOVERNMENT says they can. their are laws against public nudity, their are laws against public intercourse. the society of those towns refuse to shun them for their immoral acts and thus their GOVERNMENT refuses to enforce those laws against both hetro and homosexuals. Morals starts in the churches, in the town meetings, in the schools. Not at governments door.
i don't want my child to see a homo or hetrosexual having sex in public or dancing nud ein the streets. I don't see much difference between the two. both are immoral.
You don't want to fight this but that's the ONLY way to stop it. Being passive as you suggest will only get this country more of the same degeneracy.
And you were wrong about the law. i also have a problem them with the normal people trying to force their noraml sexual behavior on the diviants by USE OF GOVERNMENT.
That's not what sodomy laws were about.
Good night.
I was not endorsing the court decision, just pointing out how morally bankrupt our society has become, since rejecting God. We have pretty much earned what is coming, but Salvation is free for the asking, for those that recognize what is happening.
Understood FRiend. While I won't downplay salvation through Jesus Christ, I will say that it appears that it will be more difficult to save a nation, than an individual soul. That is where my fight is right now.
